Instars: Baby scorpions are known as instars. First instar: A baby scorpion that has not yet had it's first molt. Second instar: A baby scorpion that has molted once. Scrape: A small dug out area under an object such as a rock, that a scorpion has made for a home. Sexual dimorphism: physical characteristics differences, allowing one to determine sex. Hemolymph: Arachnid blood. Obligate burrower: A scorpion that will likely use a pre existing burrow. ID keys: Papers that are used to correctly identify a specie. Aestivation: A state similiar to hibernation, brought on by hot and dry conditions. Bentonite: An additive bought at pottery stores,used to make burrowing set ups more stable. Parthenogenesis: Reproduction without the need of a male. Aggressive: hi humble opinion. They are merely defending themselves.
