TARDIS international is a week of cutting-edge Videoart, Installation and Performance Art, bringing together 10 British artists and 11 high profile international artists from six different countries.

Curated by GRIP which is an ongoing partnership between Emma Johnson and Michael Lumb. Over the past twelve years they have travelled throughout Europe, exhibiting and networking with artists. Locally, they have shown artists from ten countries as culturally diverse as Iran and U.S.A. and have exhibited British artists abroad. TARDIS international is by far their most ambitious project to date.

TARDIS international explores contemporary approaches to fine art. Installation and video form the constant, against a rolling programme which explores the range of exciting approaches that are prevalent in performance art today. TARDIS international is spontaneous and responsive; so just come and see what is happening.

Between 2pm & 8pm daily there are installations and video works on show throughout the venue.

video installations in the venue exploring the notion of putting art in unexpected places
a very sensitive installation from a fast emerging French artist
installations from four Ipswich based artists
a screening of the work of young Polish video artists (2pm to 6pm only)
From 6 to 8 pm weekdays, and 5 to 8 pm Saturday and Sunday, there will be a rolling programme of live performance works when you will be able to meet the artists.
performance artists from Belarus, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Poland.
performances from four Ipswich based artists and artists from Carlisle and Derby
visual performance poets from Italy
additional spontaneous performances may take place in public places
Performances may last from as short a time as five minutes whilst others may last several days.

There is no set programme and booking is not required.
Entry is free and you are invited to come and take pot luck and see for yourself what is happening.
For more information either call in to Argyle Street or contact the festival office.

TARDIS international is sponsored by Suffolk College and Ip-art.

THANKS

Thanks to Suffolk College, in particular for providing the venue, without which TARDIS international would not have taken place. Thanks especially to Peter Funnell for his enthusiasm and support, to Brian Holder and all colleagues at Argyle Street for their agreement to the disruption, and to Tracey Bailey for her enthusiasm and support.

Thanks also to Ip-art for their financial support: in particular to Rebecca Weaver for her support and enthusiasm, to Craig Oldfield and James Young, and to Sara Newman for her enduring promulgation of Ip-art.

Thanks to Beverley Levy and Richard Patient for their support throughout the long period of preparation.

Thanks to Anthony Roberts for his enormous encouragement, enthusiasm and hard work towards the realization of what has mutated into this year's show.

Thanks to Marek Wasilewski for his support and advice.

And by no means least to the artists from other countries for putting their faith in us - without even knowing us, and to the local artists for their enthusiasm and commitment.
