Premiere Episode: Late one night in the office of St. Lazarus' High School Headmaster Father Duncan, a mysterious figure enters and walks up to the headmaster. When questioned why they are there so late, their response is to attack the Father. The Father's scream is cut short.
The next morning finds Jason Masters, Misty, Shawn and Eugene Preston sitting waiting for Father Duncan to start Math class. When he doesn't arrive after ten minutes, some of the students start leaving.
As the day progresses, students start getting called to the office. When they are seen later, they all seem to be acting strange. They all seem to stare off into space and not react to stuff around them.
At the local diner where Misty works it is quieter for a Friday night than it has been in a long time. None of the popular kids seem to be there and those that are seem lost without their regular groups. Meanwhile, Shawn, Jason and Eugene all discover something strange going on in the woods on campus. They work their way to a clearing in the woods where most of the kids on campus seem to be digging up something huge.
After a quick discussion and planning, they decide along with Rod and Sharon that this mysterious thing is what is causing the students to act strange; that it is somehow controlling them. And if it wants to get free, that they have to stop it.
Some planning and a quick stop at the chem lab later, the group is able to distract their classmates and set some explosives off, burying the creature, killing it in the process. When the creature dies, its hold on the students is broken, and confused they all wander back to their dorm rooms. One of the buildings is destroyed in the explosion.
The next day the group is called into the Headmaster's office where they are told that there was discussion of expelling them because of their involvement in the destruction of the Heritage building but that Father Calone brought up the suggestion that they work off their debt to the school by helping him with the Museum. They will live in the old dorm that the Museum is located in and help with cataloguing and any exhibits that come into town. The only other option is suspension. Relunctantly they agree to the deal. |
