Eugene, Sharon and Shawn are able to fend off the four zombies that attack the dorm and warn Misty to stay away until its safe. The ambulance arrives and Shawn heads to the hospital with Jason. Sharon is able to get ahold of Father Cullen who is on his way back from Bangor. He is about an hour out of town and will met Shawn and Jason at the hospital. He tells the rest to stay in the house with the doors locked and to stay out of trouble.
At the hospital, Shawn is shocked to discover that the Emergency Room is full due to an accident at the pool. The swimming team was injured a freak accident. A live wire fell in the pool and electrocuted the swim team members. No one was killed but the boys were all in critical condition when they arrived at the hospital. Jason was quickly checked but since his condition wasn't critical, he was placed on the waiting list.
Meanwhile, Jason was having a strange dream. He was at a birthday party and a strange voice was telling him that he was going to receive a gift if he would accept it. He had to willingly accept the gift or it would not be his.
Since it was his birthday, he was happy to accept the present. The voice told him that he would wake up now but that he had chosen a life of adventure and danger.
Back at the dorm, Sharon, Misty and Eugene have cleaned up some of the mess left behind by the zombies. They find a sword in one of the other rooms, a sword that was being catalogued when lunch was suggested and the sword that Jason cut himself on. The sword is heavy and hot to the touch. Eugene isn't able to hold on to it long enough to move it. Finding the sword on the invoice, Sharon tells them that its listed as the Sword of Gwedion. Misty goes to the library upstairs to research the Sword. She discovers that Gwedion was the Celtic God of Warriors.
At the hospital, the Padre arrives in time for Jason to wake up. Jason tells them that they have to get home right away. They had back to the dorm without checking Jason out and get back in time to help in the fight with the zombies. Jason grabs the Sword, and it feels like it belongs in his hand, like its a missing part of him. He enters the kitchen and takes care of three zombies that are threatening Sharon.
Looking in a mirror, Jason notices that he is bigger and stronger. And he is using the sword like he has trained with it all his life.
With Jason's help the group is able to destroy the remaining zombies and keep the dorm safe. Now they have to figure out what has happened and why zombies are attacking the dorm.
Meanwhile, in a cave, a strange figure curses the sword he is holding, the one that the zombies stole, crying out that it isn't the right one.
