Sith Colors Don't Run
I came up with this story a while back. It's basically two guys talking in the Sith Academy on Korriban. The premise is that if the academy is a school, there's bound to be roomates who discuss odd topics, ala Gary and me. I have several story ideas set in the Star Wars Universe as it lends itself to additions very well. The only thing I like about this comic, though, is possibly the script. Other than that, what you see is not how I intended it to look. As I've said elsewhere, everything past the penciling stage went downhill.
Enjoy if you can and thanks for reading,

Commentary:

- All locales and costumes are based on the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game.
- The game takes place 4000 years before the movies, so that's where this story takes place too.

PAGE 1
- I like to start the story like how all Star Wars stories start: with a scene of a planet or a ship in space.
- I like to start stories on seemingly unrelated events, such as this sith entering the academy.
- I have other stories in mind for him, explaining what he's reading, as well as for the sith guard standing outside.

PAGE 2
- In the script, I refer to these guys as Zak and Kaz. Creative, isn't it?
- Zak is wearing a sith apprentice outfit and Kaz wears a sith student outfit. Zak has his hood and mask down, as he's relaxed.
- They're my archetype comedian and straight man and I hope to use them in other talking head stories.
- In the game, each student gets his own alcove, but I put two beds in here to make them roomies.

PAGE 3
- I'm not a big enough fanboy to know why sith have red lightsabers in the Star Wars Universe so I made up a reason.
- Characters asking questions about their fictional, stylized world is always good.

PAGE 4
- Very like dormroom conversations.

PAGE 5
- Sith have to hate Jedi for a reason, don't they?
- I had more dialogue written where they riff on Master Kor some more before he actually shows up, but it was too long.
- I had more dialogue for Kor as well, where gives a big lecture on how and why their lightsabers are red.

PAGE 6
- I wanted Master Kor to look as dead as he could look.
- The markings on his head are based on similar markings on the boss of Knights of the Old Republic.
- Kor has the same shadow under his brow as everyone else, but notice how his eyes are not affected.
- Notice how all of a sudden Zak has a lightsaber for Kor to force-get.
- Notice how I was so sick of making this at this point that I don't care.

PAGE 7
- What Kor talks about here is speculation. I mean, it makes sense, seeing how hot the lightsaber must be.
- I like to call the look Zak and Kaz give each other as the "We are screwed" look.
- I'm such a geek.

PAGE 8
- It's a pretty obvious ending. I mean, you can't expect much else to happen to Zak.
- Again, I made all this up because I don't know why red is the evil color, and neither does Kor, it seems.
