ll people should have the same access to community and cultural facilities.

Regrettably some people are denied access because of physical or intellectual disability.

Others are denied access because of age, religion or because of being on a low income.

Launceston's Theatre North

Accessibility of a community is more than providing wheelchair accessible areas.

Assisted Listening devices should be placed in theatres and conference venues.

Art Features and Civic Gardens should be designed so that they can be enjoyed by the aurally and visually impaired,as well as the physically challenged.

Elevators rest rooms and parking stations should be easily accessed.

Audio prompts and voice interactive elevator controls should be installed.

There should be ramps and level floors in all public buildings and spaces

Major Theatrical Performances should provide equal access to concessions for all pensioners and unemployed.

Scheduling of theatrical performances should  take in account access difficulties for people with no cars,dependent on Public Transport.

Package deal bookings ought to be arranged with transport companies so 1 ticket for venue and transport.

Start and finish times would then  be co-ordinated so as to link into the bus time table.

A temporary bus stop should be provided within an easy and safe walk from the venue,
or the bus would deviate from it's normal route to cater for the passenger request.
