Cassandra Lucas (b. East Harlem, New York) and Charisse Rose (b. Bronx, New York) met while at the New York's Music and Art High School. After graduating from high school Cassandra studied sociology at Hunter College and Charisse studied criminal justice at John Jay. They met again by coincidence when they became the supporting vocalists for Sybil while she was on tour. Having sung with Sybil for two years they got together as 'Changing Faces'. Charisse and Cassandra returned to New York, working at a dermatologist's office in Manhattan. Their unusual name originated with this job. During the night, they would record demo tapes with producer, Dinky Bingham. Ironically, this demo was not what led to their discovery and imminent success. They were heard singing on the street by Kenny Smoove (head of Spoiled Rotten Records). Just days later, they were signed to the Atlantic subsidiary, Spoiled Rotten and had begun to record tracks for their debut album.

Changing Faces' first two singles ("Stroke You Up" and "Foolin' Around") were written and produced by R Kelly and went into the R&B Top Ten at the end of 1994. These two singles helped propel their debut album to gold status when it was released in 1995. Besides those two tracks, Changing Faces have an impressive list of hits; "All Of My Days" (Space Jam Soundtrack), "G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T.", "I’ve Got Somebody Else" and "Time After Time" to name but a few. Their mellow voices are well suited and produce the unique R&B sound that is Changing Faces.
