Poets & Writers Magazine September/October issue had an article on Maxine Hong Kingston - they actually used the term "talk-story." Link no longer available.
Poets & Writers Magazine also had a feature on Suzan-Lori Parks that they had a blurb for on the site before they took it off and messed up this ex-link. Actual article available on the July/August issue; the article is "First Fiction: Five Fiction Writers and Their Literary Premieres" by Carolyn T. Hughes.

"our sexy faces gracing the tasp website (one step away from the brochure, baby). there's a very adrian-centric shot here (aren't adrian & adam like THE multicultural gay couple in this shot?), a contemplative aimee here, and - the topper - bryan and tae-yeoun looking studious as hell. on the first TASP page, no less - score one for the asian invasion (damn.)" - post by Kelsey, September 24
For the musicians - There's this essay I found doing research for someone else's psych quarter paper on the evolution of music, which gives an excellent reason for the development of music, dance, and art. These behaviors allow us to evaluate the development of another person's brain, they are indicatorts like fat on elephant seals, or plumes on a peacock. I'll not ramble, but if anyone is interested, email me. I think the musicians should glance at this . - post by Adrian, October 5

Wordworth's Preface to Lyrical Ballads - Anyway, I recently read Wordsworth's Preface to the Lyrical Balads and wondered if any of you guys had read it and had any comments on his view of what a poet is and how he influenced the poetry movement after authors such as Donne, Dryden, and Pope? - post by Natashia, November 6
Hemingway's Hills Like White Elephants - ...a book I have been reading called my attention to a certain Hemingway short story called "Hills Like White Elephants." It's very short -- about 4-5 pages -- and I was curious as to y'all's input (whenever I have questions about anything, whenever I don't understand something, I think of you). You can get it online here. The more I read it the more complicated it seems. Hemingway is so noncommittal in this story (I was never a big fan of his, but here he fascinates me). So? What do you think of it? - post by Alex B, November 7
string theory, now! - tidbits from 'The Elegant Universe' a documentary starring Steve Weinberg in a few of the later episodes.
i've stumbled across a few things on the internet about our favorite mysterious subject, her fickle majesty creativity. first, an article about creativity and savant syndrome. second, a very intriguing little gadget - the "cybernetic poet," a fairly sophisticated computer poetry generator. it's fun to fiddle with the downloadable version. it also seems vaguely unsavory - i'm sure there are lots of interesting issues raised by the whole concept, all of which i'm too dense to handle. anyone? and, finally, as i already shared with alex, the divine mr. picassohead. hours of modernist fun. - post by Kelsey, December 11

Verily, my dear Brianagurya, it is here. The coca-cola is here, while the essence of it is in writing. The essence of writing is word. The essence of word is hymn. The essence of hymn is sound, and verily, my dear, the essence of sound is the universal Om and is Brahman. - post by Adrian, February 26
Eunice, I found that my school's censoring apparatus does not catch art sites (the good ones), so one of my favorite places, www.Domai.com, is allowed.

One of my best friends ran away from the school with some hippies to go to a Rainbow Gathering in Flagstaff. She came back but she had such a wonderful time that she and I are planning to hit the road and go to the big one at the beginning of July. If you want to find out more about the Rainbow hippies go to www.welcomhere.org. It's great! Here's a sample: The Rainbow Family of Living Light does not exist as an entity and any donations you send in the Spirit of the Magic Hat will be handled by individuals who are on their own honor. - post by Natashia, April 7
One more side note. I've been doing all this work for John Kerry Omaha, and one of the things I did was build us a website. Well, a blog to be exact. www.johnkerryomaha.blogspot.com is the adress. I "built" it, but you may find it has some similarities to other blogs we've all seen. - post by John, April 12
