In addition to the Core Subjects and the required number of Prescribed Electives, students must offer a minimum of 2 AUs of General Electives (preferably non-technical) during the year which can be chosen from subjects offered by the School or by other Schools. |
GENERAL PREREQUISITE REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the above specific requirements for each subject, the following general requirements will apply.
1) | A student may not read a subject belonging to a Year which is more than a year ahead of the Year he is in.
2) | A student may not read for a general elective, a core or a prescribed elective subject belonging to a Year higher than the Year he is in.
3) | A prerequisite subject P to a subject S, normally allowed to be taken concurrently with S, will be disallowed this if it itself has prerequisite subjects which have not been passed.
4) | A prerequisite subject P to a subject S, indicated as allowed to be taken concurrently, will only be allowed this if it is the only or only remaining prerequisite hurdle at this stage. (E.g. in the case of ME304 with prerequisites ME108, ME205@ and ME207@, ME205 may be taken concurrently with ME304 only if the student has already achieved at least an E-grade in ME108 and ME207.
