Welcome to t.A.T.u. Canada. Hello everyone, Some of you may have heard of the new upcoming pop group called t.A.T.u, they are 2 girls from Russia who have gone platinum in the UK and top of the charts everywhere else, except North America. They are just becoming popular here. However, and this is why I'm e-mailing you, they are a lesbian couple. They are both 18 and the majority of their music is about their love for eachother or just about 2 girls being in love. Tonight they performed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, during the performance they went to kiss eachother and the network would not show it. The camera quickly moved to the guitarist and waited until they were finished kissing before the camera would show them again. I found this to be absolutly distrubing, what's wrong with showing two girls kiss on TV. Part of their image is to send a positive message about homosexuality to the younger generation and the Tonight Show kept them from promoting their "cause". Not only this but before they performed they had Dennis Miller on and everyone was laughing and cheering him on as he made totally racist jokes regarding the potential war with Iraq. Please if you could just e-mail the tonight show [ tonightshow@nbc.com ] and let them know (if you agree with me) that not showing t.A.T.u. kiss is totally homophobic because the censorship wasn't needed because the show started at 11:35 p.m. (not that it should be censored at all in the first place).
