Taupo Orienteering Clubwas established in 1975 by the late Allan Brown. TOCis one of the smallest orienteering clubs in New Zealand. It has a proud reputation for holding events of an extremely high standard. The club is famous for hosting the annual All Night Relays (Katoa Po). It has done this for the last 28 years. Club Logo:; The stylised outline shows Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest freshwater lake which is located in the centre of the North Island. This lake is famous for its rainbow and brown trout. The lake is a caldera and was the source of the The magnetic north lines are orientated 23 degrees east of Grid North (based on Geodetic Datum '49) . The town of Taupo (population around 27,000) is located at the top of the bay by the right hand north arrowhead. |
