Desert Sights In Saudi Arabia
There are many things to see in Saudi Arabia, the 100 meter tall sand dunes in the Empty Quarter, the brightly colored sandstone cliffs around Tabuk, the oasis at Disa, and the many large cities. Even the people themselves are interesting. The women still veil themselves with the black Abaya and the men wear the white Thobe and the red and white checked Ghutra.
On this page I have placed photos from all of the above, plus a few unique things that you will not see anywhere else in the world. Some of them will make you laugh, and a few will make you shake your head.
Enjoy!!
These are some photos of an area
near where I live. It is called Disa. It looks very similar
to Arizona,
and is the only place I have seen
where there are large quantities of fresh water. In the photo on
the far right, the ground is usually flooded in the winter. It makes
for a fun 4X4 offroad experience!
Here is a shot of me with my chariot,
the Toyota Landcruiser. The
only way to ride here!
These are the sand dunes of the Empty
Quarter.
This is an old truck that we found
in the desert.
It looks like the one from the
old television show "The Waltons".
More photos to come soon!!!!!!!!!!
