New Zealand was a place of my teen years ..... the place where I discovered who and what I was...... where my love of nature in its wildest form really founds its voice and home. Here in this isolated land of Gondwanan Rainforests,  of moody mountains and fjords, and  windswept Antipodean islands it  evolved.  I grew up on  a small rainforested acreage outside Invercargill, a small regional centre in the southernmost tip of the South Island.  Culturally a strange mix of recent Scottish immigrants, so very British, so much more so than Tasmania, and a large Maori population laced with South Pacific Islanders. The images on this page, though not my own represent the New Zealand of my heart. It is largely the Alpine realm of mountains and rainforest that are the places most dear to me.

 Arrowtown - just outside  Queenstown now the "Aspen of  the Southern Hemisphere"  This small Alpine Lake Resort town of some 3000 people is now centre of the New Zealand Eco / Adventure Tourism industry. It combines my love of mountains, lakes, nearby Fjords, glaciers, snow, skiing, wilderness, rainforest, yet nearby cold desert. It is a moody exciting passionate place of contrast and variety that suits me to the core! I am also hoping it will for Kerry be the same. Arrowtown some 15 miles from Queenstown is a sleepy little village dating to the Gold Rush of the 1800's. As can be seen from the picture Arrowtown is in the rainshadow of the Southern Alps and is dry and sunny but close by are some of the wettest mountains in the world.
                                 A beautiful place in the  Land of the Long White Cloud.........
