An Episcopal miscellany reflecting the ministry of the faithful throughout the Anglican Communion.
A Gaelic Prayer
As the rain hides the stars,
As the Autumn mist
hides the hills,
As the clouds veil
the blue of the sky,
So the dark happenings
of my lot hide
the shining of Thy face
from me.
Yet if I may hold
Thy hand in the darkness
It is enough . . .
Since I know, that
though I may stumble
in my going
Thou dost not fall
THE ANGLICAN ASSOCIATION OF BIBLICAL SCHOLARS is a new organization whose purpose is to involve biblical scholarship more deeply in the common life of the Church. Suggestions from the "grass roots" are invited. If those who preach sermons and those who hear them could ask anything of the Church's biblical scholars, anything that might make the communication of God's Word more effective, what would it be? Write AABS, P.O. Box 2247, Austin, TX 78768-2247.

AND FINALLY, after the May funeral of one of his parishioners 94-year-old Hazel von Jeschki, the rector of Grace Church, Madison, Wisconsin, noted in the parish leaflet that she had left very specific instructions for her funeral service. According to The Joyful Noiseletter Miss von Jeschki, wrote: "There will be no male pallbearers. They wouldn't take me out when I was alive. I don't want them to take me out when I'm dead!"
