Sweet Jesus, I need to rethink this entire page. Ugh. Uhh, for now let's just say that the tavern sells everything within reason and also serves enough food to be considered a small, uncelebrated restaurant. It doesn't sell blood or "bloodwyne" or anything of the sort. Elven wines and dwarven ales are sold at a higher price due to their remarkable alcohol content without sacrificing similar flavor in human-made counterparts. It serves pasta of tubular and string (as in spaghetti) types at a higher price because they are imported foods and haven't caught on in this area of Ayenee yet. The 'local' cuisine can be expected as western European in style and generally uncomplicated; roasts, stews, potatoes, sausages, steaks, cooked vegetables, etc.. These are the things locals of modest means would be expected to eat, and the level of sophistication, as food goes, is about the level of a diner. Despite the lovely inside, foods are presented with very little frill and celebration, instead focusing on a good, flavorful and filling meal. (Pastas wouldn't have been served, but, as Nick used to live here, he pleaded for them to be on the menu with remarkable effort and was eventually rewarded.)

The prices are very reasonable for the food, but the rooms can sometimes be out of the reach of some poorer characters. Still, for the quality one gets, the prices aren't bad.

The barkeep is a non-player character named Joe.
I do not play him. Whoever wants a drink, some food, a room, etc., must play him. He appears to be in his late fifties or so, has short, thin, gray hair (but no bald spots), pale blue eyes, and a weight which suggests he tastes his own cooking but doesn't overeat. Although he doesn't have a very warm demeanor, he is very professional in how he conducts business but speaks only when he must, in a quiet, calm and somewhat deep voice. The tavern seems to have no employees but it is immaculately kept and orders are made up promptly; how this works is a question to be pondered over in character, rather than out of character. Nick sometimes plays barkeep--I'll tell you if he is or not before a scene. Otherwise, just assume it's Joe. THE BAR IS NEVER UNATTENDED FOR MORE THAN A MOMENT.

Any other questions, ask me.
