TOPIC: DANAMIC FAITH FOR DAILY VICTORIES

Text: "For without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him – Hebrews 11:6
As so as we start the Christian life, i.e. a relationship with God through his son, we soon discover that a new mode of living is now open to us. This new order is different from operating on the basis of our five senses – what happens to us is therefore no longer dictated by what we feel, smell, see, touch nor hear, but what the word of God says. Knowing the God that we serve, we throw unto him, living in the realm of unlimited possibilities open to us through him and adjusting our lives according to the very fine demands he makes of us. This being possible because we trust him, confide in him – have faith in him
The importance of faith in God: (Lk 22:31)
That the Christian life revolves around the faith of the believer is an understatement. Jesus informed Peter of the evil intentions of the devil against him, but Jesus prayer for Peter was not that Satan would not attack him, but rather that his faith will not fail him. If faith fails in the life of a Christian, he becomes desperate, becomes offended with God and slides back into a life of compromise and sin. Amongst others, three reasons why faith is important include the fact that we can’t please God in offering ourselves as living sacrifices to Him – Heb 11:14, or in fearing/obeying Him Heb 11:8. Without faith, we can’t receive anything from God James 1:6-7 and we can’t experience daily victories in our lives 1 Jon 5:4-5. May God open our eyes to need for faith to enable us experience daily victories in our lives, amidst the daily challenges that confront us.
The daily Christian Challenges:
We are in a world that lies in ungodliness and wickedness, inimical to relationship with God – a Satan ruled world with supernatural floods/storms being hauled against our home, secular work, marriage, children and all that makes us happy in this world. The storm is hitting hard right now on individuals, nations, churches and is going to get worse as we decide to increase our love/passion for Jesus. They manifest themselves in financial terror and unemployment, drug addition, sexual impropriety and harassment, worsening teenage problems, increasing devastation of health and satanic onslaughts.
God expects His true Christians to have daily victories nonetheless. How can this be? Only by the way of faith. Through faith we can lay hold on the abundant promises that God has for our victory, peace and Joy. Many people have worked this pathway of faith, though rough, victory is always assured.
The Example of Daniel:
Young Daniel was one of the Hebrew children carried away into captivity in Babylon – a strange land, hostile to Israel’s God and yet God expected his children to have daily victories in such a land. The first challenge that came to Daniel is seen in Dan 1:8 – here we see a resolve by Daniel et-al to remain righteous despite the challenges of the land. This decision aroused faith in their souls, which gave them victory and then promotion/favour. A unique term we find in Daniel which bears direct relevance to our situations is the fact of the never ending challenges they were faced with – from the first challenge, came other challenges with increasing intensity. With every challenge, God gave them victory and then promotion. We can find the challenges/victories/promotion in Dan 1:9-16, 2:10-49; 3: 13-30; 5:16-29; 6:1-28.
The need for dynamic faith:
For about 70 years, from one king to another, we see different challenges faced by Daniel and his brethren. Each requiring a different level/type of faith – here comes the dynamic nature of faith needed for daily victories. If our faith in God has not grown, there is danger. If the faith is "single-headed", i.e. not a multi headed type of faith, we will continue to experience failures in some areas of our lives. To survive on a daily basis, we need an ever increasing faith, a dynamic (not static) faith – confidence in the all round adequacy of God’s promises – faith in God’s providence, protection, healing, sustenance etc.
Whatever situations you are facing today, you don’t have to beg the devil or compromise to succeed, start living a life of faith today – dynamic faith to cope with every challenge. How do we enter into this faith life? Feed consistently on the word, seek a deep submission/loyalty to the word; keep appropriating God’s promises; cultivate an awareness of warfare; face up with every challenge.
