Daniel has been cast in a new movie called The Cutter with Chuck Norris. Who knew Chuck Norris was still making movies? Of course there is no info on this film and as soon as I hear something from Daniel I'll report it here. Not much happening on the home front. The Librarians aka Strike Force was released on DVD on 11/09/04. The reviews are pretty bad and there has been some discussion on the IMBD message boards, mainly about Burt Reynolds' participation and his reason for not wanting to be listed in the credits (some speculate it's because the movie is crap while the producer says it had to do with his being paid under the table to avoid the IRS). Guess THAT cat's out of the bag, eh Burt? We're also not sure when Tornado (or Nature Unleashed-Tornado) is going to be released, if ever. Why is it that most of Daniel's movies have 2 or 3 titles, anyway? Daniel was at the Delta Film Festival on November 8-9, 2003 signing autographs and raising money for the Boys and Girls Club. I was lucky enough to get details and a couple of photos from the official photographer at the event. Check out the Sightings and Photos sections for her great story and latest pics. Thanks again, Dulcy! Received a note from Daniel on October 24, 2003 saying he'd just gotten back from Romania after completing his new movie, "Tornado". In true Daniel style he did not give me any details about the film so once again fans will just have to wait and see what this one's about (but that's half the fun, isn't it?). Thanks for checking in, Daniel! The Matrix Reloaded has been released on DVD on October 14, 2003. Watch for the theatrical release of Matrix Revolutions on November 5, 2003. Congratulations to Daniel and girlfriend, Lisa, on the birth of their daughter, Bella, on May 15, 2003 (the same day Matrix Reloaded opened in theatres). Best wishes for the entire family! Well, it's finally here. Matrix 2-Reloaded has opened in over 3000 theaters nationwide! It just might be the highest grossing opening for a film...ever! Congrats to Daniel and all of the cast and crew for their great success! And word has it that Matrix 3-Revolution should open sometime around Thanksgiving. Good news for all you Matrix fans. According to the October issue of Cinescape magazine the release date for Matrix 2-Reloaded is May 15, 2003. We're getting there folks! On 6/27/02 Daniel was kind enough to e-mail me a brief note that he had just gotten back from South Africa where he just finished shooting his latest movie "Global Effect". I don't know what the movie is about or when it's slated for release but as soon as I get that info I'll post it here. He did say that he will be posting some photos from the movie on his official site soon, so make sure to check there often. Welcome back, Daniel! The May 2002 issue of Cinescape reports that shooting is complete for Matrix 2-Reloaded and a May 2003 release is being scheduled. Shooting for Matrix 3-Revolution is reported to be finished by August of 2002 with a holiday 2003 release. The 2 films are not being shot back-to-back as previously reported. In a recent (but brief) correspondance I had with Daniel on December 8, 2001, he told me that he is flying out to Sydney, Australia at the end of January 2002 to finish shooting Matrix 2-Reloaded. He is very excited about this project, as we ALL are Daniel! We wish him a safe journey and much luck in Sydney. THIS JUST IN...It has been confirmed that Daniel has been cast in the Matrix 2 & 3 !! According to Hollywood Reporter.com (story dated 3/09/01), Daniel was just signed to play the bad-guy character of Agent Johnston in both the sequels to the Matrix. Shooting is said to begin this month in Oakland then it's off to Sydney, Australia. Tentative release dates are June 2002 (part 2) and December 2002 (part 3). It is said that both films will be shot back-to-back. When I asked Daniel to confirm that he has been cast in the roll of Agent Johnston he told me that he has signed an agreement not to talk about the film. Sorry folks, guess that means we won't be getting any inside scoops! I'll keep you posted on any further developments... Much THANKS to Jediyuth for the big tip! Daniel now has an official site!! It has some great photos (from his modeling days as well-Whoo Hoo), so make sure to visit it often... www.danielbernhardt.com Daniel recently returned from Europe where he was promoting MKC. While in Germany the Planet Hollywood in Munich got him to leave his hand prints in cement for posterity. In the early months of 2000 Daniel was in Florida filming the movie "The Librarians", co-starring Andrew Divoff and Burt Reynolds. No release date yet (much too early for that), but I'll let you know as soon as I hear it. According to the New York Newsday (as reported in Variety) on 3/22/00, UPN is looking to bring back the Mortal Kombat "franchise". No mention if that means the return of Mortal Kombat: Conquest or if another show is in the works. Either way the new show will begin airing May 2001. G-2: Mortal Conquest in now available on DVD and VHS. Check out the "Photos" section for the latest video cover! Daniel's latest movie (though filmed in 1998) "G2" will be released on November 9, 1999. You can place an advanced order (DVD only) at Reel.com. It looks as though the actual release title is "G2: Mortal Conquest". Sounds familiar, dontcha think? Daniel has been invited to Gerald Okamura's Annual Dragonfest Martial Arts & Celebrity Expo to benefit the Los Angeles Pediatric Aids Network. The event is to be held on November 14, 1999 in Glendale Ca. No word yet if Daniel has excepted the invitation. To view the list of invited celebrities go to www.martialinfo.com/dragonfest/index1.htm The September issue of Cinescape Magazine reports that Mortal Kombat: Conquest has not been renewed for the 1999-2000 season, though the series is far from "dead". The producers are currently looking for a new home and hope to have the series back in production for next year. Daniel was presented with a black belt from Grandmaster Hee Il Cho at the opening of Master Cho's school in Pheonix Arizona in March 99'. Daniel had already recieved a black belt in Switzerland but considers this a great honor coming from his mentor. "Future War" is featured in episode #1004 on Sci-Fi channel's cult favorite Mystery Science Theatre 3000. If you haven't seen it, it's hysterical! |
