There you have it! I mustered 10 pictures from the concert.
Yes there were more, however my camera and darkness don't get along.......even
with a flash! There are two pictures here which were taken before
the concert(row 2, pic 2 and row 3, pic2) and there are two after the concert
outside(backstage)(row 3, pic 1 and row 3, pic 3). The rest were
of course taken during the concert. And what an unbelievable concert
it was. The day actually began when me and the gang rode down to
the Pound S.F. to check it out and make sure we knew where it was.
We were really surprised on how small the venue was! In order to
imagine the size of the building, think of a small venue in your local
town or city then make it 50% smaller. That's how small this place
was. I may be exaggerating but I really have never been in such an
intimate setting before. So after getting an idea of the location
of the Pound we took off for the city to do some exploring. After
our explorations, we check our watches and noticed it was time to head
back to the Pound. We pulled into the parking lot and the "Gathering"
was already taking place. We said our "hellos" and let the time pass
until "will call" opened up. We all thought that the time was going
to move slowly until the start of the concert mainly because the wind was
blowing at around 35 to 40 mph consistently and we were all getting very
cold. But to our surprise, out of the blue, up walked Kevin Cadogan
to greet us all shown in Row 3, Pic 2. Kevin just thanked us all
and wished we all could wait inside until the start of the concert instead
of waiting outside in the cold. He also mentioned right off the bat
that we won't be hearing too much from "Bully 4 You" and more of songs
that they literally just created and performed for the first time recently.
With that said and done, he did mention that we will hear a little from
the first and only record. That caught us all off guard but I didn't
care, we were at the VERY FIRST CONCERT OF COUSIN KEVIN! I traveled
all the way from Pennsylvania. There was nothing that was going to
dissapoint me. So Kevin said his "goodbyes" and "enjoy the concert"
and the waiting went on. About 5 to 10 minutes later, Rob and Adam
came out to greet us! Everybody got to say thier "hellos" and "great
to meet you." I shook their hands and immediately asked for a photo
op. They obliged with no hesitation and you can see one of those
photos above in Row 2, Pic 2. I had my picture taken with them but
somebody forgot to use the flash!!!! Ah Ah Ah Choo Patrick.....excuse
me. Anyway, they hung out with us for literally 20 to 25 minutes
up until "will call" opened up. I showed them my credit card and
in me and my friends went. Yes, I was one of the over 21ers so I
immediately got to know the bartenders. Then after about a 30 to
45 minute wait, the music commenced with Barbee Killed Kenn where Daniel(a
CK fan) got woMAN-handled and next stepped up AutoPunch. During all
this time, Cool Doe and Messiah walked around the bar and floor area like
they were common day folk. That was very cool. Patrick walked
up to Adam and initiated a conversation with him. Adam introduced
a good portion of his family to Patrick and they started to talk about
of course the band and how far Patrick traveled to see them. As AutoPunch
came to the end of thier set, Cool Doe and Messiah made their way outside
to the trailers to prep for their set. Finally it was time!
Now, I won't get into the set too much mainly because Jeff Wichman did
such a nice job with the summarization of the set itself and also because
my memory stinks. Everything really happened so quickly! "Angel"
definitely stands out in my mind just because I could sing along as well
as "Someday I might try" and "Waiting for Me." "Waiting for Me" definitely
was a highlight for me. Not only because I am 100% Irish and the
song talks about town life in Kinsale Harbor(County Cork) but also of how
Kevin introduced the song. He said something to the effect that "this
is an old song of ours that you might recognize." At that point,
we started shouting out songs that it might be. Patrick yelled out
"Bully 4 you" and Kevin came right back and said "Bully 4 you my friend!!"
We started laughing. Kevin said something like "well, close but something
like that." I then yelled out "Kinsale Harbor!!!" Messiah looked
right at me, smiled, and waived his index finger like "right on the money."
Kevin heard me also and said "ahhh, something just like that!" They
broke out into "Waiting for Me." It was great. Another thing
that stood out at the concert was Kevin recognizing the fans that came
a distance including Jeff from Georgia and Patrick from Pennsylvania.
He didn't acknowledge me because I never greeted him before the concert.
I was too busy taking pictures of Patrick meeting Kevin for the first time.
Damn ME!!!! The show ended with two songs in the Encore and then
as fast as it started; the concert was over. After they left the
stage, a stage hand handed out the setlist to about 10 of us(maybe more).
I got one and will scan it in later. Many of us just hung around
waiting for something to happen. Patrick left to use the facilities
when he bumped into Kevin! Kevin said meet me out front(back stage)
and told the security to allow Patrick in. Patrick quickly left,
grabbed me and made our way to where the band was hanging out. I
quickly noticed Kevin and Patrick introduced me. I said some gibberish
that I can't remember but I do remember saying how me and Patrick have
been following the band from the beginning. I told him how shocked
we were on the day we saw the press release on the internet of the firing
of him from 3EB. He said, "Yeah, I was shocked too!" He thanked
us many times over and initiated hugs with us twice. I said back
off bitch! No, I'm kidding! He was really grateful and had
genuine thanks for us. He mentioned, "Whenever we get into Philly
someday, I'll make sure you guys get some backstage passes." I was
blown away. I couldn't believe that. Hopefully that will come
true. Later on, Patrick kept on talking to Kevin and then met Angela(Kevin's
wife). I went on to seek out Messiah. I greeted him again and
said how amazed I was on how quickly he strummed the bass to keep up with
Kevin's solo! I continued by saying that his fingers had to be bloodied!
He laughed, showed me the fingers and yes.....they were bloodied and blistered.
Very cool. Eventually Kevin mentioned that he had to head back into
the trailer. We said our "goodbyes" and off to tell our friends what
just happened. We were of course very excited. So thus ended
the concert experience. We headed back to our hotel room and over
and over, talked about the night. It was a complete thrill especially
for me and Patrick. We are awaiting the next concert and/or album!
