Hampshire, England Death: 19 Feb 1859, Posey Co., IN Burial: Black Cemetery, Black Twp., Posey Co., IN Occ: Florest in London, Farmer in Indiana6 Father: James KNIGHT A floriculturist in South London, awarded silver medals by South London Floricultural Society in 1836 & 1837. The Knights were regular Baptists and during their residence in London attended the Church of John Stevens. Those who remained in England were members of Charles Spurgeon's Tabernacle. 1841 London Census at Camberwell Parish, Fo.43 Camberwell Terrace James immigrated from England to Indiana with his wife Ester and children Joseph, Ebenezer, David, Ester and Mary. Arrived on the "Victoria" in Sept. of 1843 in New York City.
1850 census New Albany, Floyd Co., IN (next door to son Edmund's
family) March 30 1855 letter from James Knight to his son Richard Knight, Esq of New Albany, IN: "....Your affectionate letter January 9 came duly to hand and though it was a long time..........[will add later] April 23, 1856 letter from James Knight to his son Thomas Knight: "......[will add later] Probate File, Posey Co., IN March 18, 1859, p.463: [will add later]

Harrison Co., IN Marriage Book: "...matrimony between the above named Edmund Knight and Lydia Combs on this Ninth day of December - 1845. -- Ths ...oust.. JP" Consent of both father present.
1850 living in New Albany, Floyd Co., IN, household #686, family
804 1856 letter from Edmund's father to his brother Thomas: "...I am happy also to inform you that Edmund (though a cripple) is very industrious and perservering. He has bought himself a comfortable brick house and lot with room to build another house upon with stablings and so forth for his horses and he has as much hire work as he can doo - - With an apparent economical wife and five children, four of whom come to Esther's school and are bright intelligent children."

c.1861-1865 Edmund KNIGHT died in Posey Co., IN. His widow, Lydia Combs Knight, married Abram (Abraham) RATCLIFF before 1870.
