Tampa Downtown Lions Club
About Lions Clubs International
Since 1917, Lions clubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. From involving members in projects as local as cleaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world's blind, Lions clubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community.

We Serve - Nearly 1.4 million Lions members, 46,000 clubs in 193 countries and geographic areas answer the needs that challenge the communities of the world. Lions tackle tough problems like blindness, drug abuse prevention and diabetes awareness.

Global neighbors - Lions members—men and women—provide immediate and sustained relief in time of disaster and offer long-term assistance to those in need. Lions collect and recycle eyeglasses for distribution in developing countries and treat millions of people to prevent river blindness.

Community Leaders - Lions improve the quality of life in their local communities by building parks, supporting hospitals and establishing water treatment programs.

For 85 years, whenever there is a need at home or around the world, Lions members are there to help—
We Serve.
Chartered in 1925, the Tampa Downtown Lions Club has been meeting every Thursday at noon to have a good time and enjoy helping others.  We don’t take ourselves too seriously but make sure we cover the business at hand which is raising funds for the charities we support.  All funds raised by our club go directly to the charities we support and no monies are deducted for administrative costs.

We raise our funds by conducting raffles, auctions, selling candy on the Florida Lions Candy day, running an annual charity garage sale and by holding our Tampa Downtown Lions Club Annual Charity Golf Tournament.  Some of the charities we support include:  Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind; Central Florida Lions Eye & Tissue Bank; Southeastern Guide Dogs and Florida Lions Camp.

We meet each Thursday at noon at Luna Di Mare in the Wyndham Harbour Island Hotel on Harbour Island, across the Hillsborough River on Franklin Street, just outside of Downtown Tampa.

Our membership dues are $120 quarterly, which includes our weekly luncheon and parking.  Regular active membership initiation fee is $92.00 which includes your first month’s dues.

Check us out and enjoy a lunch on us.
