Die Fahne hoch

Die Fahne hoch / Horst Wessel Lied
Melody:
Lyrics: Horst Wessel

1. Die Fahne hoch
Die Reihen fest geschlossen
S.A. marschiert
Mit ruhig festem Schritt
|: Kam'raden die Rotfront
   Und Reaktion erschossen
   Marschier'n im Geist
   In unsern Reihen mit :|

2. Die Straße frei
Den braunen Batallionen
Die Straße frei
Dem Sturmabteilungsmann
|: Es schau'n auf's Hakenkreuz
   Voll Hoffnung schon Millionen
   Der Tag für Freiheit
Und für Brot bricht an :|

3. Zum letzten Mal
Wird nun Appell geblasen
Zum Kampfe steh'n
Wir alle schon bereit
|: Bald flattern Hitlerfahnen
   Über allen Straßen
   Die Knechtschaft dauert
   Nur noch kurze Zeit :|

4. Die Fahne hoch
Die Reihen fest geschlossen
S.A. marschiert
Mit ruhig festem Schritt
|: Kam'raden die Rotfront
   Und Reaktion erschossen
   Marschier'n im Geist
   In unsern Reihen mit :|

Raise high the flag,
The ranks are closed and tight,
Storm Troopers march,
With firm and steady step.
|: Souls of the comrades
   Shot by Reds and Countermight
   Are in our ranks
And march along in step. :|

Open the road
Just for the brown battalion.
Let's clear the way
For the storm trooperman.
|: In hope, to the swastika
   Raised are eyes of millions,
   Dawn breaks for Freedom
And bread for all man. :|

This is the final
Bugle call to arms.
Already we are set
Prepared to fight.
|: Soon Hitler's flags will wave
   O'er every single street.
   Enslavement ends
When soon we set things right. :|

Raise high the flag,
The ranks are closed and tight,
Storm Troopers march,
With firm and steady step.
|: Souls of the comrades
   Shot by Reds and Countermight
   Are in our ranks
And march along in step. :|

Als die goldne Abendsonne

Als die goldne Abendsonne / Kampflied der SA
Melody: Karl Heinz Muschalla
Lyrics: Karl Heinz Muschalla

1. Als die goldne Abendsonne
Sandte ihren letzten Schein,
|: Zog ein Regiment von Hitler
In ein kleines Städtchen ein. :|

2. Traurig klangen ihre Lieder
Durch die stille, kleine Stadt;
|: Denn sie trugen ja zu Grabe
   Einen Hitlerkamerad. :|

3. Und der Mutter in der Ferne
Sandten sie den letzten Gruß,
|: Daß ihr Sohn mit Stolz gefallen,
Durch das Herz traf ihn der Schuß. :|

4. Trotzig wehten ihre Fahnen,
Als sie senkten ihn ins Grab,
|: Und sie schwuren grimmig Rache
   Für den Hitlerkamerad. :|

5. Du bist nicht umsonst gefallen,
Schwuren sie es ihm aufs Neu,
|: Dreimal krachten dann die Salven,
Er blieb Adolf Hitler treu. :|

6. Als die goldne Morgensonne
Sandte ihren ersten Schein,
|: Zog ein Regiment von Hitler
Weiter in den Kampf hinein. :|

SA marschiert

SA marschiert / Durch deutsches Land marschieren wir
Melody: Herbert Hammer
Lyrics: Herbert Hammer

1. Durch deutsches Land marschieren wir,
Für Adolf Hitler kämpfen wir.
|: Die rote Front, brecht sie enzwei!
SA. marschiert, Achtung! Die Straße frei! :|

2. So stehen wir im Kampf allein,
Durch Blut geschweißt sind unsre Reih'n.
|: Den Blick nach vorn, die Faust geballt!
Die Straße dann von unserm Schritt erschallt. :|

3. So manchen braven Kamerad
Legten wir schon ins kühle Grab.
|: Wenn auch so manches Auge bricht,
Wir fürchten Reichsbanner und Rotfront nicht. :| *)

Melody: Friedrich Silcher
Lyrics: Ludwig Uhland

Ich hatt' einen Kameraden,
Einen bessern findst du nit.
Die Trommel schlug zum Streite,
Er ging an meiner Seite
|: In gleichem Schritt und Tritt. :|

Eine Kugel kam geflogen:
Gilt's mir oder gilt es dir?
Ihn hat es weggerissen,
Er liegt vor meinen Füßen
|: Als wär's ein Stück von mir :|

Will mir die Hand noch reichen,
Derweil ich eben lad'.
"Kann dir die Hand nicht geben,
Bleib du im ew'gen Leben
|: Mein guter Kamerad!" :|

In battle he was my comrade,
None better I have had.
The drum called us to fight,
He always on my right,
|: In step, through good and bad. :|

A bullet it flew towards us,
For him or meant for me?
His life from mine it tore,
At my feet a piece of gore,
|: As if a part of me. :|

His hand reached up to hold mine.
I must re-load my gun.
"My friend, I cannot ease your pain,
In life eternal we’ll meet again,
|: And walk once more as one." :|

Heiliges Feuer

Heiliges Feuer (Pflichtlied des RAD)
Melody: Will Decker
Lyrics: Will Decker

Volk ans Gewehr

Volk ans Gewehr / Siehst du im Osten das Morgenrot
Melody: A. Pardun
Lyrics: A. Pardun

1. Siehst du im Osten das Morgenrot?
Ein Zeichen zur Freiheit, zur Sonne!
Wir halten zusammen, auf Leben und Tod,
Lass' kommen, was immer da wolle!
Warum jetzt noch zweifeln,
Hört auf mit dem Hadern,
Denn noch fließt uns deutsches
Blut in den Adern.
|: Volk ans Gewehr! :|

2. Viele Jahre zogen ins Land,
Geknechtet das Volk und belogen.
Das Blut unsrer Brüder färbte den Sand,
Um heilige Rechte betrogen.
Im Volke geboren
Erstand uns ein Führer,
Gab Glaube und Hoffnung
An Deutschland uns wieder.
|: Volk ans Gewehr! :|

|: Volk ans Gewehr! :|

4. Jugend und Alter - Mann für Mann
Umklammern das Hakenkreuzbanner.
Ob Bürger, ob Bauer, ob Arbeitsmann,
Sie schwingen das Schwert und den Hammer
Für Hitler, für Freiheit,
Für Arbeit und Brot.
Deutschland erwache,
Ende die Not!
|: Volk ans Gewehr! :|

Deutschland Erwache - Heil Hitler Dir!
Melody: Bruno Schestak 1937
Lyrics: Bruno Schestak 1937

1. Deutschland erwache aus deinem bösen Traum!
Gib fremden Juden in deinem Reich nicht Raum!
|: Wir wollen kämpfen für dein Auferstehn!
Arisches Blut soll nicht untergehn! :|

2. All diese Heuchler, wir werfen sie hinaus,
Juda entweiche aus unserm deutschen Haus!
|: Ist erst die Scholle gesäubert und rein,
Werden wir einig und glücklich sein! :|

Vorwärts, Vorwärts

Vorwärts, vorwärts schmettern die hellen Fanfaren / Uns're Fahne flattert uns voran
Melody: Hans Otto Borgmann
Lyrics: Baldur v. Schirach

Vorwärts! Vorwärts!
Schmettern die hellen Fanfaren,
Vorwärts! Vorwärts!
Jugend kennt keine Gefahren.
Deutschland, du wirst leuchtend stehn
Mögen wir auch untergehn.
Vorwärts! Vorwärts!
Schmettern die hellen Fanfaren,
Vorwärts! Vorwärts!
Jugend kennt keine Gefahren.
Ist das Ziel auch noch so hoch,
Jugend zwingt es doch.
Refrain:
Jugend! Jugend!
Wir sind der Zukunft Soldaten.
Jugend! Jugend!
Träger der kommenden Taten.
Ja, durch unsre Fäuste fällt
Wer sich uns entgegenstellt
Jugend! Jugend!
Wir sind der Zukunft Soldaten.
Jugend! Jugend!
Träger der kommenden Taten.
Führer, wir gehören dir,
Wir Kameraden, dir!
Refrain:

Refrain:
Uns're Fahne flattert uns voran.
Uns're Fahne flattert uns voran,

Problems with some versions

Some versions of Triumph Des Willens have unorthodox problems.

Here are three of those problems in the 579MB DIVX Version of the movie:

1: At the beginning of the movie the music Deutschland Erwache is played, this destroys the flow and buildup of the movie, this music does not appear in other versions and can not have been in the original movie because Triumph Des Willens was released in 1935 and Deutschland Erwache was not composed until 1937.

2: There is no speech/sound synchronization, but if one uses Virtualdub to delay the sound by 500 milliseconds there is perfect speech synchronization.

3: The top of the picture is missing compared to other versions.

Now 200,000 men have been assembled; summoned not by their mere hearts but also their fidelity. It is our nation's greatest misery that moved us, united us in struggle, and made us fight strong, and all of those who have not suffered with me the very same misery and suffering among their own people cannot comprehend what we feel. To them, it is confusing and incomprehensible that this assembly would bring hundreds of thousands together and make them endure great misery, suffering and privation as a simple order of the State. One cannot be disloyal to something that has given content, meaning and purpose to one's entire life. All of this would not be possible were it not given to us by a great command and it is God Himself who created our Reich! ... (applause) 239. CLOSE ANGLE AT fluttering banners again; then: 240. CLOSE BACK AT HITLER AGAIN: HITLER ... People are deceived who might believe that even one single smudge occurred in the foundations of our unified Movement. It stands firm as a rock just as this assembly today stands firm as a rock, as we in Germany stand, unbroken.
