Questions to consider when viewing clips: 1) Explain why a close-up of a clenched fist is used to convey anger. 2) Identify how the colours of character's clothing are used to indicate heroic or villainous intent. 3) How does the title sequence in a cartoon draw the viewer in and foreshadow the content? 4) How would people from different socio-economic backgrounds (different classes - $$$) interpret these cartoons? Be specific!! 5) Compare your personal responses to these cartoons, to those of the people who would have watched these cartoons as children. Identify the similarities and differences between your responses and their responses. (Hint: watch the Batman & Robin features!!) |
