Poetry
Triolet: Is a poem that is eight (8) lines in length.  Each line is eight (8) syllables long.
          *Line 1 is repeated in Line 4 and Line 7.
          *Line 2 is repeated in Line 8.
          *The end of Line 1 and Line 2 rhyme.
          *The end of Line 3 and Line 5 rhyme.
          *The end of Line 4 and Line 6 rhyme.

Cinquain:
     *Line 1 is a single word, subject
     *Line 2 contains two adjectives, both describing the subject, unrelated
      structurally, and separated by a comma.
     *Line 3 contains three adjectives
     *Line 4 contains four words forming a phrase or clause
     *Line 5 repeats Line 1
- Write your own cinquain about the weather i.e. snow!!

Haiku: is a poem that has 17 syllables and usually follows this pattern:
     *Line 1 = 5 syllables
     *Line 2 = 7 syllables
     *Line 3 = 5 syllables
- Write your own Haiku in response to one (1) of the following paintings

Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter
  - Hint: pay attention to what elements from the season are used to construct               the picture of the face.  e.g. rose for a cheek, peas for teeth, etc.

Concrete Poetry
- Your choice of topic.
- Your poem must be represented visually as well as with words.
- You will create an outline of a shape and then write your poem along the outline.
- e.g. If you choose to write about "school" your symbol could be a pencil.  Your poem would be written in the outline of the pencil.

Create a Poetry Collection that includes:
- I AM poem from beginning of course
- Romeo & Juliet Sonnet - Montague or Capulet
- Triolet
- Cinquain
- Haiku
- Concrete Poetry
**Choose one (1) of your poems to present orally to the class. - January 9th,
