The following are books on the subject of AVID. I really recommend that if one book be purchased on the subject it be the Wall of Fame book.

In the first pages of this book, Mary Catherine Swanson lays out the original intentions of the AVID program. Many schools have gone on to alter the original vision of the program and use AVID for any number of purposes. I am an advocate for maintaining the program as it was designed.

While I may have been "stunned" by my first year as an AVID 9th grade teacher, I have actually taken the time to document my experience. Remember, I am a math teacher so don't expect great writing. But you can expect some some insights...
