I am interested in teaching a course to highly motivated individuals which would cover the Standards for 7th Grade Math, Algebra I, Geometry I, Algebra II and Calculus within a very short time period. If done full time, over the summer for example, the course would run six weeks, six hours a day (8-2), five days a week. If done during the school year classes would have to meet twice a week for four hours each class for the length of a semester. Tuition for such a course would run $1500 per student with a limited enrollment of 10. This would include the five+ texts I use in my classes. Required materials would include a laptop with wireless internet modem and Microsoft Office. While such a course would be in some ways a survey course, we would go to the depth I feel the standards require. Any student going through such a course would view high school math classes as review and reinforcement. Such a course would not be for struggling math students but would be for students who love and excel at math and want a big picture perspective leading to any number of technical degrees from medical doctor to engineer to computer science college majors.
