Rhode Island's Best and Unique Geocaches

Here are our recommendations for the best, shortest, longest, highest, weirdest, scariest, and otherwise unique geocaches in Rhode Island. 

1. Best HikeThe Magnificent Mile Cache   (Photo) (archived). (And the others by Mike and Christine.)

2.  Best Walk on the BeachCatch a Wave  (Photo) (archived) .  Bring some shorts.

Near the Cliff Cache 3. Best Tourist ComboBrenton Point Cache (RI's oldest) & Cliff Cache  (Photo).  Both in Newport.  Fly a kite at the Point, see the mansions along the Cliff Walk.  Enjoy the ocean views and have a nice lunch.

4.  Best CornerRI-CT-MA Tri-State Marker  (Photo).  Be in three states at once!

5.  Best Puzzle CacheNumeration Destination. Get out the calculator and get ready to Google.

6.  Weirdest LandmarkToaster Head  (Photo) (archived).  The cache name says it all. (This cache is also a letterbox.)

7.  Best Story for CacheThe Witch Hunt.  The story about the witch adds an additional excitement.

8.  Closest to CarTrash Cache  (also most aromatic) (archived).

10. LongestThe Vin Gormley Trail Multicache System.  There are five easy to find caches over an eight mile loop.

11.  Best Bike-Cache Combo:  Start with the Bike Path - North End (archived) on the East Bay Bike Path, and then continue south to the Colt State Park Maze Cache. Next, bike down to the Silver Creek Goodie Box which is near the southern end of the bike path.

North South Trail 12. NST Caches: While hiking the North South Trail, check out these caches which are close by: North, Stepstone Falls, Browning Mill Pond Cache (archived), Hydrology on the Meadow Brook, and Butch and Sundance (arvhived).
