Since 1989 Costa Rica has been a second home to the Allen family. The boys have spent many summers exploring the pristine beaches and beautiful mountains of this tropical paradise.  We have also enjoyed sharing our love of Costa Rica with many of our friends and family.

In our Tico Land Rover we have spent weeks at a time exploring the jungles and beaches of Costa Rica. On the left are Ian and Sean with their cousins Alison and Chase. On the right the children travelled well despite the cramped space of a short wheelbase Land Rover.

Volcan Arenal is a spectacular active volcano which we have visted often. On the right are the hot springs which are warmed by the volcano.

Horseback is a great way to see the remote regions of the country

Ticos, as Costa Ricans are known, are some of the friendliest people in the world.  Here the owner of a Scarlet Macaw introduces Sean to the colorful bird.
