Day 8 Ogden
Today was a very nice day. We got to sleep in. We went to a place called Chuck-A-Rama for lunck. They had the biggest buffet I have ever seen. But of course we are on the program and are not allowed to eat unhealthy foods(the good stuff), and the healthy food that we could eat was limited because we had to play in an hour. It was a no win situation. So far this week the Scotland boys team have been teh coolest. But you have to play everybody in this tournament, and they were next. Scotland had their backs to the walls, they had to win to stay in the tourney. We didn't get off to a very good start. We couldn't get any rocks in position. When we through a high guard they would come around it perfect. They played really well and we played our B game. So I guess you can tell from what I'm saying that we lost. So what does this mean? It means that we play France in our last game if we win we get hammer in the 2vs3 game. If we loss we have the same record as the Scots and would flip for hammer. After the game we tried to draw some postive notes from it. Once that was done we forgot about it and started concentrating on our game against France. Sone teams are starting  to get eliminated so things are starting to pick up around here if ya know what I mean..... Tonight was our night to go out to supper with the CCA reps. WE went to a place called the Timbermine. We were told that we were allowed to have steak. So we did. Most of us had a 16oz bacon raped steak. It was wicked.  All of us guys gave the girls on the Canadian team roses. "Some nice what". So they became our dates for the night.Brad was with Carol Webb, MArk was with Suzanne Gaudet, Brent was with KELLY HIGGINS, Mike was with Robyn Macphee, Jamei was with Stefanie Richard, and Jeff was with their Coach Paul Power. (now that is a cute couple). After all that we left and went back to the hotel, talk to a few people and then went to bed. zzzzz...

Day 9 Ogden
This day was the greatest day yet.We didn't have to play until 4:00 pm. So we all slept in. When we all finally came to, we went to subway(7 subs with 6 grams of fat or less) remember the program. Anyway then we went to watch the Canadian girls game @ 12:00. They were playing the US. If the girls won they would have first place. The US girls played a really good game and ende up beating our girls But as it turned out, the Sweden girls lost to the Germany girls and Canada got first place with a 7-2 record. After their game we had to play France. The game started with them taking one. Next we got two and then stole the next 3 ends. So at the fifth end break, we had prett comfortable lead. But in the 6th end they had a hit for 4. HE rolled out and got 3. The game ended up with us not having to through our last rock. As soon as the game was over we headed for Salt Lake City to watch a Utah Jazz game. Jeff was doing the speed limit all the way there.Ya right. We got there at the start of the 2nd quarter. It was unbelievable, we were up in the Press Area with all the big shots. All the game stats, second by second possession, and a really good view of the cheerleaders. The cherrleaders... I mean the Game was really good. You don't realize how big the players are until you actually met them in person. The Jazz were up all game until the last min of play when Portland tied it up. With 1.9 seconds. left on the clock Portland knock down the  two free throus. The Jazz call a time out, they run the play for Stockton to shoot a Three pointer. Teh shott goes up up up and its no good. The Jazz lose. The Stadium went quiet. None of us are Jazz fans but yet we were dropponid that lose we were in a car park for about 25 mins before we got upt. All in all it was a great time. After we got back to the hotel it was time to start being the social butter fly. After we spun a few yarns, and told some lies, and more lies, we pretty much went to bed.
The day of the Semi Final
Today is the biggest day for us since we have been here. If we didn't win today, no world championship, and no chance for Jamie to get on the Barbeque team for the Bon voyage. The game was at 1:00 so we got out of bed at 10:00. That gave us plenty of time to get a bit to eat and prepare for the game We ate at subway again!!! The hole 7 for 6 thing again. Anyway then we went to the Ice Sheet. We got there pretty early so Mike, Brent and I(Jamie) went out by the door for a game of hacky sac. If the object of the game is to keep the sac up, we failed, we failed badly. And if that wasn't bad enough, TSN was taping us. So if you ever wee that footage on TV, they only showed you the bad parts. Scotland won the toss and had the hammer in the first end. We got of to a great start, stealing one in the first end, stealing another in the third, and in the fifth we steal another two. So after 5 ends we are up 4-0 and we haven't had the hammer yet. In the 6th end we fours him to one. And then in the 7th  end on Brads last shot we have eather a draw for two, or a pick for 3. But if you play the pick you run the risk of picking your own out. Witch would give them a steal. Jeff wants Brad to play the draw, but in worlds there are no time outs. So when brad calls the Pick Jeff closes his eyes and holes his breath.(So did I). Brad makes the Pick and Scotland Shakes hands.  Canada is off to the final..."I likes the sounds ah dat" After that we just had enough time to go back to Chuck-A-Ramas for some eaten and then go back and watch our girls play in the final. The girls started off really good. But in teh second half of the game Sweden started to steal some points. In the tenth end Canada was down by one with the hammer. Suzanne has to draw to the four foot to force an extra end. It looked heavy all the way down, with the sweepers not laying a broom to it.
But it stopped and covered the pin. In the extra end, Canada is lying two at the top of the house. Sweden had all the left side of the house open to draw to. She came out with a bit to much weight and the rock just keep sailing. It ended up in the back 12 foot. Canada stole two to win the game. Once the girls got their gold medals and hugged all their parents, we all headed back to the gotel. Every one was exchanging there shrits with everybody. It's not to hard to traded a Canada Shirt. Anyway we have the championship game at 1:00 Ogden time so we have to get to bed and get a good night sleep. So wish us all good luck tomorrow and look for us on TSN. The game is going to be taped, and wont be shown until 8:30 Newfoundland time. So good night to all.
