It's getting that time of year again. With only two regular season games to go the Swingers are looking to secure a first place finish in the Lower C league out at the Dugout. There is a question of whether or not the two rain out games will be made up, but as for now, Friday at 8 and Tuesday at 10 will be the last chance to see this team in action. Rumors are already spreading about the postseason tourney, if there is going to be one. Last Tuesday's game featured some new and returning talent. Fresh off a trip to Jamaica, Dakota Einfeldt went deep in his first at bat for a three run blast. "It just felt good to be swinging a bat again. As soon as it hit the bat I knew it was gone. I am such a man. I mean, I am huge." The blast silenced the other team, as well as the Swingers. "It was weird, Dakota hit a monster shot and the team fell dead quiet. Nobody wanted to say anything. Dakota just trotted right to the pitcher and poured another glass like nothing had happened. I guess when you hit that many homeruns its just another at bat," the 2. Brock also went yard in the game on a laser that was hit over the right field fence. "I was just sprinting around waiting to hear it hit the fence when I saw it fly over. I was really hoping for the double." Newcomer Motts the applesauce man ended the game on a towering blast. "I just wanted to prove myself to the team, both on the field and off the field. I already showed my manhood earlier in the day, so now I needed to show management I have what it takes." Brad "Golden Glove" Buss put on a display in the field. Brad made great diving stabs and throws all night. "Sometimes you just close your eyes and hope for the best. I mean, I had inspiration at the game and you know that you can't look bad in front of your girl. Especially at slow pitch softball." Another big W went to Duane "tiny tugfest" Boeh. "What can I say, when you dominate on the mound like I have all year it's just another day. They may get a few hits, but I look at the 2 and just shake em off." With two games to go the Swingers are sounding awfully confident. This is Chauncy, signing off. |
