Scariest skydiving moment   In 1979 I had a double malfunction.  I was demoing a canopy with extremely mismatched (and antiquated) equipment.  After pulling my "Blast" handle, the main totaled.  Then I pulled the reserve without cutting away.  The container flaps had evidently opened but the spring on the main pilot chute was no longer loaded due to excessive space in the container.  When the reserve began to open, it jarred the main pilot chute into the air and both came out with the main making 2 or 3 complete wraps around the deploying reserve preventing it from opening.  I immediately cutaway and had to grab the main risers and throw them around to untwist them it took 2 throws to relieve enough tension for the main to strip off the reserve.  The reserve opened normally after that.  I made a nice standup landing on the concrete under my 26' Strong LoPo.  Whew!!.
Best skydiving moment   There are so many, but one of the most rewarding was a demo jump into a special camp for abused children in Los Angeles county.  It touched me in a way I'll never forget.  The expressions on their faces and the impressions we made on those kids that only knew a life of neglect and abuse.
