What the Pros have to say about Tecmo!
Tecmo Bowl...  You could not block Lawrence Taylor, you could not stop Ronnie Lott.  Then you had Andre Reed and James Lofton with the Bills.  Jerry Rice with the Niners.  Houston's four wide receivers, Ernest Givens was especially dangerous.  It all started with Tecmo Bowl.  Everyone always wanted the Giants or Niners because you couldn't stop them.  The Niners were always the best team that came out from Tecmo Bowl on.  They had Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Roger Craig, and back then, every game was about scoring as much as possible, so the Niners were the team.

Back in the day, I used to play Tecmo Bowl,  Super High Impact, Super Mario Bros., and Sonic The Hedgehog.

I'd play as Walter Payton and Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl  Those were my guys.  When I was a kid I wanted to be like Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl.  He was so fast, once he got past the line no one could catch him.  That's who I wanted to be.  That's who I wanted to play like in real life.
Even though Tecmo Bowl has been out for a long time, it really wasn't till the mid-90's, when more guys on the team started to get into it, when they start talking about it, especially when I started making the Pro Bowl on a regular basis, then everyone would come up to me and say "You're great in this game.  You made a great catch last night in my game."  It was a pretty interesting phenomenon that started to happen.  It's amazing to see how these people get into it, and I can see how.  If I wasn't playing sports, I can see how a sports fan would easily get wrapped up playing something like that.

I believe it was Super Tecmo Bowl.  That was the first game when I relaized I needed to go out and dominate the field.  My team was the Houston Oilers, and I'd throw the ball, Moon to Givens or Drew Hill in the back of the endzone everytime.  That was my team, the Houston Oilers in Super Tecmo Bowl, and ever since then, it's been on.
We had Tecmo Bowl, and in that game it was all about Bo Jackson and Walter Payton.  Bo could run over anybody in that game.

We played when we had a chance to, and Tecmo Bowl is pretty much the game that sticks out in my mind from back in the day.
What's funny is that kids used to come up to me all the time and tell em how great I was in Tecmo Bowl, talking about how fast I was.  I used to say to myself, God, what are they talking about.  I used to hear comments from guys coming up and talking to me, calling me one of the greatest video game characters of all time and telling me about all the titles they won by my character getting an interception and returning it for a touchdown.

Oh yeah, man, I've been playing since I was a little kid.  Tecmo Bowl used to be my favorite.  I loved that game.  Bo Jackson up the middle, Lawrence Taylor on the blitz.  They made the stars super powered in that game.

I'd play as the Raiders and Bo Jackson.  The best video game football team of all time.
Tecmo Bowl is the best game of all Time!  Tecmo Bowl, Super Tecmo Bowl, Mario Bros, those were the games, and those first games, even though they didn't have the 3D technology or the realism of these games like Madden, they were just real.  You can't name any male who didn't like Tecmo Bowl or Super Tecmo Bowl.  They were the starting points.  Tecmo bowl made way for Madden. 
Bo Jackson was the best player in Tecmo Bowl, the best player in videogame football history.  You could not tackle Bo, you could not catch Bo, you couldn't do anything to stop him.  Jerry Rice was decent in the game, Joe Montana was good,  but the two best players in Tecmo Bowl history had to be Bo Jackson and Lawrence Taylor.
