SAY GOODBYE TO 1998

With old friendships lost and new ones begun.
Saying goodbye to ‘98 maybe sad for some
It’s been with us for a whole twelve months
And been part of our lives, now the time has come.

It will be like the shedding of a favourite coat
Or leaving an old friend or lover behind.
That warmth you feel from a protective suit
Or a warm loving hand held by your side.

But for others it will be a joy to bid it farewell
With a chance to begin again, next year
To say goodbye, adios, good riddance
With fireworks and the songs of Auld Lang Syne

A relief to this years sadness past
And pray again for a better year ahead.
1999 will hold our vows of love and peace
If only this time, can we get it right.?

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

What will I resolve to do in the New Year?
Will I give up the puffing on cigarettes?
Or will it be the drinking of coffee?
I don’t like to make promise’s I cannot keep.

Will I resolve to love my fellow man?
Well maybe just a few.

Will I resolve to loose this excess weight?
Or will I resolve to exercise more?
Well I can’t see into the future and
I don’t like to make promise’s I cannot keep.

New Years resolutions are such a sham
I have never met a soul who has kept
A New Years resolution yet. And I resolve that
I don’t like to make promise’s I cannot keep.
