And She Waits...
Was it ever to be? Or was it all just a dream?
The Betrayal of Sir Owen (the turning of the 4th)
Sir_Owen_of_Crimson (then newly embraced) did have the opportunity to turn his first chylder. She was a gentle and unassuming creature, the youngest_daughter of a large family whom it would hardly be noticed if she came up missing. It so happened that he brought her to Hell, to the Crimson lair and did proffer unto her those sweet lies, those promises laced with poison that beckon hapless mortals to the darkness...to the dark realms of Set. She succumbed easily enough (innocent fool that she was) to his wiles, her only fault being her youth and naivete. Even Tears did attended the turning for Owen was indeed anxious to please his new master. But as fate did twist the knife like so, an odd thing did then happenstance. At the pivotal point of the corruption, another vampyre didst come upon them, one of undeniable birth. He was called Dracons_Fangs and he was the son of mighty Terasque herself and an unknown vampyre father of the insidious Nosferatu. Somehow though, the Kindred did accept him into their fold for (it seems) he also happened to be the heir apparent to his grandfather's crown...that of Leviathan. He strode into the castle, coalescing from the very mist, with an aire of indignancy about him as if he disdained even to speak with the chylder of Set. "Ah, what do we have here?" his deep voice boomed (coyly cunning were his words, they flowed like smoke from his tongue, solid in their impression but merely the illusion of substance). He advanced closer to Red (for that is what they called the maiden) confident and without hesitation. He smirked a jaded grin as his talon went gently to lift her chin and force her to peer into the eerie chartreuse glow of his split serpentine eyes. Her own eyes reflected only the echo of deep fear in her heart...she stumbled over the words, "M...m'lord?" He chuckled bemusedly as he formally introduced himself. He made a sweeping gesture with his great taloned arm before bowing, his ebony dragon wings, still outspread, dipping low as he prostrated himself before her. He then took her hand and gently turned it over as his lips caressed the tender skin of her wrist...a most devastating gesture as if Kindred to Kindred (one usually afforded only to those vampyre held in high regard) though she was clearly only Kine. She blushed brightly, her cheeks flushing a deep rouge, for she knew not what to make of this creature so grotesquely brutish in shape and stature, but whom could kiss her hand as gently as any mortal lover she's known...until now. Again the color to her cheeks deepened as she caught herself wandering in thought. He smiled enigmatically, of course being able to read a simple's human's thoughts, but remained valoriously discreet about his secret knowledge. "What business do you have here, Dracon?", Owen did query short of patience and a bit indignant of the interruption. Dracon swiveled his head to look upon Owen, as if for the first time noticing him. "Do you address Me?", again the thunderous voice reverberated. "Aye. That I do." "Ah, forgive. I forget myself. You are that mortal king, I remember you..." Sir Owen looked somewhat abashed that this monstrosity should think he would simply walk in here, their home and command everyone about as if it were his own. "I am that king, but no longer mortal and you, Sir, are interfering", with that he drew his sword and Dracon simply grinned. The affect of the grin was apparent as both Tears and Owen simultaneously gulped for the man whom was half vampyre half dragon did smile through his several rows of jagged fangs, clenched tight. Tears interceded and reposed the question in a more polite tone. She looked to Owen and told him telepathically, "Owen, please...let me..." Owen simply nodded but did not resheath his sword. "Dracon. It seems you have caught us at a most inauspicious moment. We were about to turn the lady." A wicked leer curled up on Dracon's thick lips as he said, "Methinks not, she is to be mine." "Nay, I canna allow it. She belongs to us.", Tears said calmly. "I said, she is mine!!", and with that he backhanded Tears and sent her to fly and crash against the wall. Her eyes flew wide for she had never been struck by any in such a manner and her hand flew to the heat of her face. Sir Owen immediately stepped in brandishing his sword. Dracon simply let fly the sword with the sheer power of his mind and a surprised Owen did find himself curiously disarmed. "If I have to kill you with my bare hands, I will!" Owen yelled out with conviction. "Methinks it should not have to be so. Let me have the girl and you all shall be allowed to live.", Dracon said this calmly as if with the great patience of one whom has had to reprimand many before him (which was true). Tears arose from the ground and then turned to Owen and asked him telepathically if he would simply give up the girl, for it was far more trouble to keep her than to give her to Dracon. Owen responded telepathically as well telling Tears that he would sooner give her (Tears) up than his first chylder. Tears was rather shocked as well as hurt, for it was Owen whom had promised his undying love to Tears and now it was as if he was turning his back on that promise. A sudden flash of memory and she saw the dying Owen lying in her arms as she began to drink of him because it was the only way she knew to save him. Red simply stood somewhat mesmerized by Dracon's powers of will and remained blissfully oblivious to all their mental deliberation. Tears swallowed then her pride and interjected again, "Dracon, I shan't allow this. This is our home. Tis you whom are the interloper here." "Very well, then take her!", Dracon looked down at Owen as if daring him to do so in his presence. Owen (being no fool) took the chance and quickly grabbed the girl and drank greedily of her vitae. The very air itself was imbued with the smell of the precious liquid. When she was drained to the point she fainted, he allowed her to fall to the satin sheets of Tears' great crimson bed. He then took his talon and raked carefully over his own wrist to allow some drops of his own blood to spill upon her lips that were the same color. He concentrated and after a second more the wound instantly healed itself. He stood then and stared at Dracon in great defiance and said, "She is ours." He said no more. Tears arose and curtsied before Dracon, her gesture of politeness never withheld regardless if friend or foe. Dracon's split pupils perused slowly Tears' form as if considering something...else. He then smiled, a genuine smile..one that contained warmth as he approached her, holding up his hand for her to kiss. She blinked thinking all this rather...irregular but reached out to do so anyway. Not entirely forgetting his striking of her, she took the hand with uneasy trepidation, looking into his eyes the entire time. Her gaze then fell down towards his hand and right before her lips touched upon his cold skin, she gasped. What she saw sitting halfway on the knuckle of his smallest finger was her ring. The crimson jewel aloft it sparkled like dancing fire as if to mock her. She looked quickly to her own hand and her countenance instantly fell. Dracon simply chuckled as he knew that she knew. "And so...yes, you shall have her. But M'lady, I do believe I..... have you" Before she or Owen (whom just now also noticed) could react there was a great flash of light and they were left alone again, the original 3. Tears fell to her knees and wept then into her hands, for not only had Owen betrayed her love but Dracon had stolen her heart....
