Name: Allen Walker
Canon Series/Origin: D. Gray-Man
Age: 15
House: 5th year Hufflepuff

History: When Allen was a baby, he was found on Christmas day by a man named Mana and his band of Muggle traveling performers. Mana took him in and raised him like his own. He performed acrobatic stunts as a jester, would sing and dance and tell jokes, he even learned how to play the piano. He adored his life, despite being born with a monstrous looking, deformed arm. He was never made to feel like there was something wrong with him.

From time to time, he and his father would travel to visit an old acquaintance of his, a rather odd individual that Allen never really felt comfortable around, but called him 'Uncle' out of respect. The man was an Auror, and well respected by the Ministry and the people around him. One day when he was ten, he heard his father and uncle arguing about something he could only faintly understand.

He snuck into the room they were arguing in so he could hear them better. He knew what magic was, that his uncle was a wizard and so was his father, and hopefully himself one day. His uncle was attempting to perform some sort of spell and his father was trying to talk him out of it. Allen was curious. He had never seen this sort of magic before and tried to get closer to get a better look at what was going on.

The next thing he remembers is waking up with his face cut apart and covered in blood. His hair had turned white, his left eye felt like it was on fire. Fragments of the spell had lodged themselves into his eye, leaving wounds that never seem to look completely healed.

Normally, Allen's left eye has a milky while haze over it. That eye is blind unless the spell fragment has been activated, in which case it bleeds to pitch black and ringed in red. The spell fragment allows him to literally see magic as it is cast, either moving through the air or affecting something directly as swirling forms of energy. His already deformed arm had changed, shifting from looking red and twisted to something almost demonic.

He was told that there was an accident and that his father had been killed, and that he would be staying with his uncle from then on. He was brought before the Ministry of Magic to speak about what happened, but he couldn't remember enough to help them come to a definite decision on what had occurred. Even memory inducing spells were only able to pull out the faintest of glimpses. He was placed under his uncle's care, with the hopes of 'discovering the secrets' of what had happened that evening.

Living with his uncle has been hard on Allen. The man is physically, mentally and verbally abusive, and treats him more like a slave the a ward. Over the summers away from Hogwarts he works Allen to the bone to pay off his own debts built up by frivolous spending on the most expensive food, alcohol, and woman he can get his hands on. Allen has even become quite the card shark in an effort to win money for his uncle. He learned a long time ago to do what the man said because it's much easier then dealing with the consequences of saying no.

One day, when his uncle was in a particularly foul and drunken mood, his uncle started hurling spells at him and Allen lashed out with his left hand as a reflex to protect himself, with surprising success. The spell either dissipated, or was absorbed directly into his arm. Either way, it had been stopped. Of course then his uncle had to test this out a number of times, much to Allen's dismay.

Secretly, his uncle then began throwing him into battles with dark wizards, but unfortunately he's still not allowed to use magic outside of school, so he was ended up being used almost like a human shield to protect against magical attacks. He's never told any of this to anyone. His uncle would deny it an since he's viewed as such a well respected person, he is the one that would be believed.

When at school, Allen is often quiet and bashful, easily flustered at times. He's used to being stared at. It does bother him but he always tries his best of offer back a smile rather then making a scene and drawing even more attention to himself.

His constant companion is his familiar, Timcampy, who was at one point an owl but ended up being an accidental recipient of a transfiguration spell that turned him into a bizarre snitch like creature. Any attempts to fix the error have been thwarted by Timcampy himself, who seems to enjoy his new form and can often be seen perched on top of Allen's head....or chewing on something he shouldn't be.
