A Favorite Joke No One Will Like
A rope, a cable, a thread, and a string all went out one night to celebrate the string's birthday. They all went into a bar and ordered drinks. All of them were served except the string. He thought it was probably an honest mistake and asked the waiter for his drink again. "We don't serve strings in here," he replied snidely. The whole team was pissed off and left.
When they went to the next bar, all of them were admitted in but, once again, the string got a "No strings allowed" answer, and they all left again.
Now they were thoroughly ticked, so they went to another bar, this one a lot darker where the string might not be so noticeable. He borrowed the rope's hat, as well, to disguise himself. They all went in and ordered drinks and thought that everything would be fine this time since no one seemed to notice him. Just as he was about to be served, though, the waiter said, "Hey - aren't you a string?". Feeling caught, he couldn't help replying, "Yes," very sheepishly, and they were kicked out.
By this time the string was at his wits end and ready to scream, so....
...On their way to another bar, he ducked into a bathroom, tied up the top of his head, and separated his threads very messily. When they got to the bar, he ordered his drink and was finally served. Whew!
...A few minutes later, though, when he ordered his second drink, the manager passed by and said, "Hey man - we don't serve strings in here." The string was ready for this and asked very unassumingly, "Are you speaking to me?" Irritated, the manager replied, "Yeah! You a string, ain'tcha?" Thankful he didn't have to lie, the string replied, "I'm a frayed knot." (See, I told you. ha ha ha) |
