Who I Am
Richie played in numerous bands in the Jersey clubs prior to joining Bon Jovi.  Some of the bands he played with were Rebel, Mercy, Richie Sambora and Friends and The Message(with Alec John Such).  Alec had joined a new band, and asked Richie to come check them out.  Richie liked what he saw and he was the new guitarist for Bon Jovi.
Richie joined Bon Jovi in 1983 after a demo song by lead singer Jon Bon Jovi had received radio airplay.  They put an album togehter to back up the song and Bon Jovi began to take off.  When their 3rd album(Slippery When Wet) was released, Bon Jovi gained a popularity in Rock Music.
Richie married actress Heather Locklear in December, 1994.  The couple welcomed daughter Ava Elizabeth Sambora in October 1997.
Richie has recorded several songs for movie soundtracks, and had his first speaking roll in a movie in Miramax's 2002 release
On The Line.
Richie and Bon Jovi were one of the most popular bands in the late mid to late 1980's and into the 90's.  In 1991 Richie released a solo album, Stranger In This Town.  In 1998 he released his second solo album  titled Undiscovered Soul.
