Keith Caputo & The Dropout Rebel Genius Band Special Guests Miss Antarctica Tilburg, NL 5/9/2003 ~ 013 ~ By: Theo Wapenaar KC* Core Team When I heard the big news that Life Of Agony joined back together again to do a couple of shows, I was really happy with the rest of the world. It got even better when I heard about the upcoming release of the River Runs Again live album and the forthcoming European tour. One thing kept bothering me though... the other side of my favorite vocalist. After the early Japanese release of "Died Laughing", I got hooked on the songs and voice of this guy from NY. After the projects Keith has worked on and now the reunion of LOA, what will become of Keith's own songs in the future??? The Answer was right here. Tonight. Tonight at the 013 in Tilburg was the third show of more than twenty dates counting for Keith's Perfect Little Monsters Tour. The 013 was completely sold out and people were even waiting a long time in front of the club for some spare tickets! I missed Miss Antarctica (to fulfill my job for the KC* Core Team) but I've read in the press the compliments to Keith for taking such a promising band with him on tour. Sorry guys, ill see you next time! The show tonight of Keith and his Dropout Rebel Genius Band was quite impressive. The song material was a perfect balance between "Died Laughing" and "Perfect Little Monsters". Most of the people were not yet familiar with the material off the new album "Perfect Little Monsters", but you could easily see that people were enjoying the new material and sucking up the songs in their minds and hearts. The "oldies" like Upsy Daisy, Selfish, New York City, Brandy Duval, and the rockin' Honeycomb sounded like never before!!! The new musicians Danny Platt (guitar) & Mike Shaw (Bass), and partly new Jack Pisters (Guitar) and Jochem 'TMF TV Special' van Rooijn (Drums) played together with Keith on the piano and acoustic guitar... tight like they had been together for years perfecting the songs. After, the place was hotter than hell and sweeter than heaven. The night ended with another great song. I missed my train back home and slept in the open air of Tilburg. ...but for a show like this, I wuold do it again! Proceeding the Perfect Little monsters Tour, Keith joins his mates of LOA. Again, another highlight for music and Keith lovers, ...but let's hope this talented guy always keeps doing what hes so good at, and that "Perfect Little Monsters" and all albums following, hit the stores so everybody can enjoy all of this. |
