~ Logo ~ Sat. Oct. 4- Hamburg, DE 9:30- ...was just talking to someone for what must have been 45 minutes about how the music has affected their life. I dont know what to say, im an emotional wreck after hearing this story. Everyone has a certain something that keeps the internal flame alive. I wont mention his name but the story goes like this... 1999-2000 Keith toured Europe in Germany, soon following was the release of Died Laughing on Feb. 14th. There was a tragedy 2 weeks before Keith played Germany as a young man laid in the hospital awaiting 4 painful, life-threatening operations to the stomach. He did not think he was going to maki it out of the hospital and had lost hope. Died Laughing came out. Lying in bed, he listened to the music. In listening to the album, he found a reason to believe and something to look forward to. He wanted more than anything to live and be able to see Keith play live. Before surgery, his girlfriend promised that if he made it out of the hospital, they would take a special trip to see Keith play. He than endured surgery. Days later, he opened his eyes and tasted life, happy and shocked to be alive. He and his girlfriend made the trip to see Keith and everything is fine now. He thanks Keith for giving him the inspiration to not live in fear and believe in life, love, god, music. We are thrilled to be here. This is a great place. There actually are pictures of The Beatles all over the walls of LOGO (which is cool because we are all fans of the Beatles) ! Right down the street at the Star Club, the Beatles played their first gig! This area has a great music scene and Logo definately has a special vibe, THE SHOW IS SOLD OUT!!!! The club is absolutely packed! I can't even walk. Keith and the Dropout Rebel Genius Band go onstage- Everyone is giving themselves to the music and Keith is responding. People are going Bezerk during NYC, the audience is louder than Keith! It's a beautiful night tonight and we are all in a great mood. Im thrilled to be on this tour and so happy that people feel and understand the music as they do right now. I see people dancing and practically climbing on the stage. I feel at home for some reason. Highlight of the night by far was when Keith decided to play Selfish on the Acoustic. He has not played Selfish in Europe since 2000. It's a poignent moment right now as everyone is singing the chorus to Selfish. This is what music is all about. Right here, Right now. |
