| ~ Leffinge Leure ~ Sat. Sept. 20- Leffinge, BE Today will be hectic. We leave the house at 11:30 am to drive to Belgium for the Leffinge Leuren festival. Tonight we have another show in Rotterdam at Rotown, a small club/bar which Keith has played at before. There is something about Rotown that always seems to bring a great performance. Hopefully tonight will be another memorable show at Rotown. 3:15- We arrive at the festival with a mere 45 minutes before showtime. 4:00- A wail omits from the monitors as the Dropout Rebel Genius Band begins the intro to Charade. Always modified and unpredictable. Every show, there are at least a few moments where the music is so great, I think this is the best Ive ever heard Keith. I find myself repeating the same words over again as we play more shows. Standing in the audience on this blistering hot day, I am overwhelmed by the size and response of the crowd. I try and video tape a song but am pushed against the barrier by the eager listeners. I look over to see people singing every word during Honycomb with full heart, connecting with Keiths voice and lyrics that carry over throughout the huge festival. As the show comes to a close, Keith decides last minute to play 2 songs for an encore. Keith thanks everyone who made this a memorable show and worthwhile long drive to Belgium. 5:30- Back to Holland for our second show of the day!!! On the road again |
