William Don Cobb "Donald", son of Tyrus Ellis Cobb Sr. (1912 - 1942) and Adelia Bordelon Cobb (1913 - 1985). Donald married Linda Gallien and had two children: William D Cobb, Jr. and Julie Deann Cobb. Donald and Linda divorded later.
Donald was a US Navy Veteran. He served on the Navy Ship (LSD-USS Spiegel Grove).
Donald and Dolores Roy were married in the Lafayette Sheriff's Department. Dolors was a Deputy Sheriff at the time. They lived in Lafayette, LA. Donald retired from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Department in 2004 with 30 Years of Service, he was Special Chief Investigator for he DA's Office.
Donald and Dolores loved competition cooking and judging. Every Thanksgiving they had a family reunion at their place and prepared food for days! Every Mardi Gras Season they would setup a tent with family and friends, right on the parade grounds in Lafayette, LA, and commence to cooking and feeding the entire crew, which also included the Sheriff's Department! To say Donald and Dolores loved cooking and feeding everyone is an understatement!
Donald passed away on June 2, 2004. He was given an honorable tribute by the Sheriff's Department, who provided a reverent Honor Guard Ceremony at his funeral services, complete with the changing of the Guards, every 15 minutes. He was also given a final tribute, at his burial site, by the Sheriff's Department playing Amazing Grace on the Bagpipes. Donald is buried at Fountain Memorial in Lafayette, LA.
