DEATH
by Anne

I've searched within the world's horizon
to the valley of serenity that vouched freedom.

I sold my soul to the angel's promise
and set my journey to the abyss of life's repose.

As I wait for the peaceful sunset,
a pale breeze kissed my dying breath
and gave warmth of comforting bliss.

Whispers of rejuvenation gave an aroma of hope
to the choking air of death I smell.

I lay awake throughout the night
and held that strand of thread so tight.

It cradled me until I slept,
it braced my dreams with redeeming strength.

It took me to paradise
where I rejoined the glorious sunrise.
