Colonel Teddy Bitner, US Army (retired) serves as Associate Professor of History, Chairman of the General Education Division and Director of Institutional Research and Strategic Planning for Calvary Bible College and Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO.  He holds a Bachelor of Science from University of Central Missouri, a Master of Arts from Wheaton College, a Master of Military Art and Science (Military History) from the US Army Command and General Staff College, and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Theological Seminary.  He is a 1995 graduate of the US Army War College.  His command experience includes C Battery, 6th Battalion, 52nd ADA (1976-1978, Germany); the 2nd Battalion, 52nd ADA, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina (1990-1992, including Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm); and the US Army Theater Missile Defense Element, US Army Space Command (1996-1997, Colorado Springs).  Prior to his retirement, he served as the Deputy Director, Space and Missile Defense Battle Lab (1997-1998, Colorado Springs) and concurrently served as the G-3, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas (which included a short trip to Kuwait in 1998, otherwise known as Operation Desert Thunder.).

Colonel Bitner led the NATO planning team for Bosnia (Allied Forces Southern Europe, Contingency Initiatives Branch) and served as the Chief of Plans, J-5, Headquarters, IFOR from 1994-1996.  During the summer of 1995, he represented CINCSOUTH as the NATO Liaison Officer to the UN Rapid Reaction Force Operating Staff and senior officer at the NATO Tactical Air Operations Center during Operation Deliberate Force in Bosnia.  Following the signing of the Dayton Peace Accord, Colonel Bitner led the team that prepared the Dayton Peace Implementation plan for Bosnia.

Other assignments include platoon  leader, battery executive officer, battalion and brigade operations officer, ROTC instructor, and two tours in the Pentagon. (Clearly, could not keep a job!)

His awards include the
Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (three awards), Bronze Star Medal, Valorous Unit Award, Senior Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Army Staff Identification Badge.  His other military schooling includes airborne school, air assault school, 82nd Airborne Division jumpmaster course, and the US Army Inspector General course.

In addition to his military duties, Colonel Bitner served as part time pastor of a Baptist church in the Washington DC area.  He also served as an assistant professor at Wheaton College and an  adjunct professor (history) at Carolina Bible College.

Colonel Bitner is married to the former Nancy Stephens.  They have three daughters and one grandson.  He is the author of
Kesselring at Anzio and Unreconstructed: Vietnam to Iraq as well as numerous magazine and journal articles.

He is the Chairman of the Board and President of
Highway Mission, the President of Cycle Disciples Motorcycle Club; a member of the Freedom Fest Board of Directors, and a member of the National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans' Coalition.Board of Directors.
