It was nearing the end of the 1994-95 school year at Cleveland State. The sports editor that year, Bill Thompson, gave me a chance to do something that I had been thinking of for half of the school year: Writing a column.
It was obvious this was the start of something good, especially when Bill's predeceessor, Steve Alic, was aware that I would want to continue the column through the next year. But first came the issue of what would it be called.
That decision process took about five minutes...
Teed Off was a reality, and an era began...
