This was my first attempt at Maria, and I'm fairly pleased with her. The base figure I used was Mistique, from the X-Men movie line. I chose this figure mainly because I thought the hair looked right.
Unfortunatly, Mistique is covered in bumps, so I had to do a lot of sanding to get a nice smooth body.
I made the skirt and the apron from painted cloth. The sleeves, collar and belt are made from Milliput. I didn't give antenea to this figure, as I thought she looked better without them.
The feets proved a slight problem, as Mistique wears no shoes, and I didn't want to sculpt over the feet, in case I stopped her being able to stand. So in the end I had the idea of just painting sandals over the feet. I think it worked well. |
