This is called the poor boy theater because I really don't have alot of money in it nor did I have the money to put into it.  I did as much as I could with the money I had (even though the wife wasn't to thrilled with me spending anything on it!)   The projector, I think, is the best projector for the money.  It has tremendous color and clarity, and even as big of a screen that I installed, the pixels are only noticed every so often sitting on the front row, which is about 13 1/2' from the 10 1/2' screen.  About the chairs, I bought them used, and my wife and I re-upolstered them ourselves - along with sanding, re-painting, and cleaning every inch of them (they were nasty!) but I got an unbelievably great deal on them and I would be embarrassed to tell you how much I paid for them.   The screen is made up of 2 1/2 sheets of sheetrock that I outlined with 2x2 furring strips and painted flat matte white.  The picture may improve with a "real" screen, but I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on it (didn't have the money anyway, so I had no choice but to build one)  besides, I think the picture looks awesome on my homemade screen, and so does everybody that sees it.   As far as what is in the homemade revolvable stereo equipment rack, go back to my homepage and click on "Equipment  List" link.
This is the entrance to the theater, you can see the 2nd row chairs at the top, and the projector vent
Standing at the top of the staircase looking into theater room.
I am standing right over the powered subwoofer, this is just another view of the room.  Staircase is in the background.
These were just flimsy, plastic armrests until I  padded and upolstered them, pretty smart, huh?

This door is the attic entrance to the area above the master bedroom.

This is the home made screen measuring 6'6"x8'3" and painted flat matte white.  Three sheets of sheetrock were used, cut down to fit and trimmed out with 2"x2" furring strips for the border, which was caulked and painted accordingly.

This is the outside of my house (which I just finished building....but that will be another web page.)   My theater is the roof line above and behind the garage, you can see  the siding above the garage door...that is the back wall of the theater, the projector is against that wall.  The picture of the brick wall is the screen end of the theater; of course you can see why my theater has a vaulted ceiling, I was able to just squeeze the room under the roof because of the way I designed it.
