One of Liveliest Inaugurations Yet Now Shaping Up. Many to Whoop It Up for LBJ in Washington. President Johnson and those here to whoop it up for his inauguration, got both good and bad news from the weatherman today. Today marked the official start of what could be one of the liveliest inaugurations since Andrew Jackson's. President Johnson returned Sunday night from a weekend in Texas, ready to celebrate his sweeping victory over Republican Barry Goldwater. Coming back from Texas, he brought along so many friends on the presidential plane his staff members were displaced and had to ride another aircraft. Curiously, Andrew Jackson away back in 1829, seems to have come closest to Johnson in inviting all his friends to come. Some 20,000 did, crowding into the White House and creating such suffocating confusion that Jackson eventually had to flee the too-friendly mob. The majorettes, Jo Nelle Anderson, Gladys Carruthers, Susan Diehl, Elaine Hunsicker and Susan Pellett, met with the uniform salesman two months ago to plan and design their new outfits. The wool uniforms have black, long-sleeved jackets with silver panels and the letters F.S. in red on the front. The box-pleated skirts are black with red inserts. Viet Cong Strength Grows Dramatically... No Longer Any Question: Viet Nam War Being Lost. At an obscure village named Binh Gia, 200 bodies of South Viet Nam's best-trained, best-equipped and best-seasoned combat troops lay in the brush and rubble. In the last six days of 1964, they had faced the most powerful Communist onslaught mounted to date in the war in South Viet Nam. The spectacle of these bodies being removed on ox carts and litters was a fitting symbol of the decline in military fortunes for the goverment and the United States. As 1965 began, there was no longer was much question in the minds of any Vietnamese or U.S. officials here that the war was being lost.
