How to get here!

By Flight The nearest airport is in Kayseri and is 100kms away.  You can take a bus from Kayseri to Nevsehir which will take around an hour and a half to arrive.  The bus will first pass through Goreme and about 3kms or 5 minutes later will pass through the skirts of Uchisar, this is where you must get off the bus.  Tekelli Evi is only 25 meters up the main road.  There are gift stalls lined up on the road at this point together with two camels which hang around there all day.  This is also the first spot you get a close look at the huge rock

structure called Uchisar Castle which is the tallest thing around in the valleys.  This place is called 'Uchisar Develer' pronounced 'ooch-hee-sahrr  deh-veh-lehrr'.  We are just up the road.   By the way, Tekelli Evi is pronounced 'teh-kehl-lee-ehvee'.

By Bus Travelling by bus is relatively easy in Turkey.  The roads are pretty good and it is possible to find a bus from almost anywhere to anywhere .   Prepare yourself for a 10 hour bus ride if you are coming from Istanbul.  There are three main bus companies operating to Cappadocia.   You should get a ticket to Nevsehir and tell the company that you want to go to Uchisar Develer (on the way to Goreme).  From Nevsehir they will either continue with the bus towards Uchisar and Goreme or transfer you to

one of their 'service' mini-buses which will...  Don't forget to tell them you want to get off in 'Uchisar Develer' (pronounced Ooch-hee-sahrr Deh-veh-lehrr) or you will end up in Goreme (a five minute ride away).
