Biography

William Smethurst

William

William Smethurst, who devised and produced Jupiter Moon, was a journalist and freelance writer before he became editor of what is fondly remembered to be one of the most successful eras of BBC Radio 4's The Archers.

During his time on The Archers William put together a writing team that would become the core of Jupiter Moon.

He then went to Central Television, where he worked as executive producer on various drama series including Crossroads and Boon.

He has written six novels - currently in print is a scientific time-slip saga called SINAI (published by Headline) set in England/ancient Egypt.

The Times review of SINAI said: "Take a large measure of Indiana Jones, season liberally with Stephen Hawking, top up with a twist of Wilbur Smith and you have... a story that would do credit to The X-Files.

William has written a second time-slip novel, PASIPHAE, set in both contemporary and medieval England. It is available now in hardback, and will be published in paperback in spring 1998.
