FAN ART

ARTWORK BY VICTORIA BISHOP

A fine pastiche writer, a dedicated D&D fan and (as far as I can tell from a thousand miles away) a good all-around person, Ms. Bishop is also no mean artist. Here are some sketches she sent me:

Acrobat

Barbarian

Magician

Ranger

Thief

ARTWORK BY MARCELO PEREIRA

I received this picture from a Brazilian fan of the series named Marcelo Pereira. Not only is it the Cavern's first example of CG fanart, but it poses the musical question: What would Sheila look like if the series was flat-out Japanese animation? For that, plus a nice background depiction of the Tower of the Celestial Knights and an interesting depiction of the cloak's "fade-out", here is:

Marcelo's Thief

Marcelo is back! This time, he offers both a CG/"anime" version of Diana, plus a sketch of the work:

Marcelo's Acrobat

Sketch for the Acrobat-in-Progress

Marcelo is back again, with his take on D&D mixing a little anime into the Realm! We start out with a CG Ranger, standing in front of (for some reason) Isengard from "The Lord of the Rings":

Marcelo's Ranger

Speaking of crossovers, Marcelo admitted to getting more than a little frustrated trying to draw Hank's Eighties glam-rock big hair, so for revenge he pushed Hank into a certain cursed spring in China--behold:

Hank-chan!

Next, a sketch of Sheila that's an unintended crossover--the very red hair makes her look (IMHO) like Nuku Nuku! (Now SHE would have had fun in the Realm. She would have driven everyone else crazy, but...)

Sheila Sketch

In this crossover, we see Presto trying to pull a rabbit out of his hat. The hat, however, seems to be an anime fan and offers up every other kind of creature.

Presto!

(Actually, this would have been the most helpful thing Presto could have done, Marcelo notes: Presto produces the Totoro, the Totoro summons the catbus, the kids ride it home! End of story!)

Finally from Marcelo (for now, at least) a sketch of the barbarian that proves that Less is More:

One Ticked-Off Little Barbarian!

And now for something completely different: a 3-D computer generated scene by W. H. Branham of Sheila being attacked by a zombie from "Prison Without Walls":

Beware of Zombie!

Branham has been rather busy lately so, rather than try to display all his artwork, here's the link to:

ARTWORK BY LESLI WEIRD

Actually, she admits that she's Leslianne Wilder, a college student down in Texas and a self-taught fantasy artist. As far as I can tell about such things, both teacher and student have done a good job. Here are her sketches of:

The Acrobat

The Cavalier

and

The Magician
