1998 Golden Globe Speech

It took me a while to get this transcribed, but it's done and I think it is right although there are some parts that I could not figure out (basically Robin Williams.) If you find any errors in this please email me, Angie and let me know where they are, thanks!

Laura San Giacomo: Best Actress in a Series Drama. Gillian Anderson, "The X-Files."
Michael J. Fox: Kim Delany, "NYPD Blue."
Laura San Giacomo: Roma Downey, "Touched By An Angel."
Michael J. Fox: Christine Lahti, "Chicago Hope."
Laura San Giacomo: Julianna Marguiles, "ER."
Michael J. Fox: And the winner is... Christine Lahti... Chicago Hope...(various cheers and laughter)...Here she comes...she's uh.
Laura San Giacomo: ...where she really is.
Michael J. Fox: Christine is, uh, indisposed at the moment, I believe.
Laura San Giacomo: She'll be us, sh-she'll be r-r-right uh r-r-right here. I'm sure that she'll, history, is this history in the making?
John Tinker: I'll step in for her. I knew it, I knew it. Christine I'm just vamping come out here. Paging Miss Lahti, Miss Christine Lahti, uh the moment.., Is she here? Christine um I'm not leaving till you come get this cause I know you want this and I'm so proud of you for winning this. The moment I turned and saw she wasn't sitting there and she's in the ladies room.
Robin Williams comes up to the microphone and begins ad libbing something in what I am going to guess is Spanish.): This years ward for cloning, ah people on the deep south say we've had cloning it's called cousins (laughter.) All right Christine Lahti. The winner Christine Lahti!

Christine begins making her way up to the stage. Robin Williams drapes a towel over his arm and holds it out for Christine. She takes the and wipes her face and hands on the towel.

Christine: Thanks you. (laughter) Oh my God, Oh my God! You know, I was in the bathroom mom.
Robin Williams: We had a camera.
Christine: Oh God, oh my God. Oh thank you so much. (laughter) I was just flushing the toilet and someone said you won and I though they were joking, and I thought what a terrible joke! Oh my God! Well, unbel...Holly! Any way, thank you. Um, first of all thank you to all my fellow nominees, congradulations to all of you. You know I've always felt that the, that the contest part of this...the having to choose winners and losers part of this whole Golden Globe thing it always felt really absurd to me, right now, not so bad. (laughter) A huge thank you to David Kelly, the brilliant David Kelly, (applause) and John Tinker for creating Kate Austin and all of her out there delicious complexities. Un a dream team of actors: Hector, Adam, Mark, I'm gonna forget and I'm going to have to take out an ad tomorrow I know it. Um Adam, Mark, and, and Peter and Vondie, and Rocky, and, and Jayne and Stacey, I love all you, you make me so much better than I could ever be. Um the producers, uh the wonderful producers: Jim Hart, Rob Corn, Bill D'Elia, um my team Tony Howard, Bryan Mann, David Felter, Kieth Addis, Leslie Moonves, um Sandy Krushaw, Peter Ross and finally to my remarkable, talented amazong partner, best-friend and husband Tommy Schlamme, thank you, thank you so much.

Let me just take this time to apologize for most likely butchering the names that Christine mentioned at the end. If anyone knows the correct names, if I missed them please email me and let me know.
